The sales associate smiled politely. "Miss, it's correct. This lady's dress has already been paid for by a gentleman. He mentioned it wouldn't be appropriate for him to buy yours, so he asked us to charge a symbolic hundred bucks as a token gesture. Our manager just called to authorize it personally. We can't charge you a cent more. Here is your card, have a wonderful day."
Inwardly, the associate was praising her lucky stars that she had hidden away to eat popcorn during the fight.
It was obvious this stunning girl was a massive VIP, not the 'bumpkin' those other two women had claimed she was.
Thank God she hadn't acted like a snob, or she'd be looking for a new job right now.
Sabrina looked at Stella in total bewilderment. "Stella, who paid for you? Who's buying you dresses?"
What creep had his eyes on her sweet friend?
Was some pig trying to snatch her up?
Stella shrugged nonchalantly. "I have no idea."
Her best guess was Julius. But Julius had no clue she was shopping at Crestview Plaza with Sabrina today!
Other than him, she genuinely couldn't think of a single person who would secretly foot the bill.
"Well, whatever. Today was a massive success. Come on, let's go get a massive lunch."
The entire sixth floor was a culinary paradise, offering a diverse array of high-end international and local cuisines. They could get an incredible meal without even having to leave the mall.
"Yes. Food." A distinct sparkle returned to Stella's eyes.
The two happily headed up for lunch.
Meanwhile, Yvonne and Rhoda had wandered into a different luxury boutique.
Yvonne found a dress she liked, tried it on, and headed to the register to buy it.
You are still more than welcome to shop with us, but it will have to be at full price. I'm sure a small sum like that means nothing to someone of your standing, right?"
Yvonne scoffed loudly. "If this is how you treat me, why would I ever spend my money here? It's not like you're the only boutique in the city."
With her head held high, she stormed out of the store.
Rhoda trailed behind her like an obedient shadow.
Watching them leave, the manager muttered under his breath, "As long as you're shopping at Crestview, you're not getting VIP treatment anywhere."
The manager's words proved prophetic. Yvonne and Rhoda went to another high-end boutique, and were given practically the exact same speech.
Infuriated and completely devoid of any desire to keep shopping, Yvonne dragged Rhoda up to the sixth floor to get something to eat.
