Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 220

As luck would have it, they ended up at the exact same restaurant where Sabrina and the 'bumpkin' were dining.

Yvonne shot them a venomous glare and deliberately stomped her heels as loudly as possible while walking past their table.

She chose a table right next to Sabrina's. The moment she sat down, she announced to Rhoda at top volume, "Order whatever you want."

Her voice was obnoxiously loud, clearly meant to flex on Sabrina and Stella.

Sabrina rolled her eyes without an ounce of elegance.

Stella leaned over and said loudly, "Sabrina, are you full? Let's get out of here. The air just got incredibly toxic, and I'm worried someone might try to extort us into buying their lunch. You almost got scammed out of a dress earlier."

Her voice carried effortlessly, her intentions completely undisguised.

Sabrina laughed lightly. "We've been here a while, I'm stuffed. Let's go. We'll leave the leftovers so others can study our plates for inspiration, since we clearly ordered way too much. Waiter, check please!"

A waiter quickly approached. "Hello, ladies. Your table has been completely comped. You are free to leave whenever you're ready."

Sabrina smiled politely. "Wonderful, thank you."

What was going on today?

Someone paid for the clothes, and now someone comped the meal?

Sabrina suspected the 'comped' line was just an excuse—someone had obviously paid the bill in advance!

It had to be the exact same person who bought the dress, and they were definitely doing it for Stella.

Who on earth was it?

"Stella, it seems I'm entirely riding your coattails today. Seriously, who is your secret admirer?" She had promised to treat Stella today, but hadn't even gotten the chance.

"I genuinely don't know. I've been with you this whole time."

She was ninety-nine percent sure it was Julius. But was he stalking her? Or having her tailed?
