What if it wasn't Weber's men?
Ugh, she regretted it now!
Impatience really was the devil.
Filled with annoyance, she headed straight to Blackwood Group to find Julius.
This was her third time visiting the corporate headquarters, so the receptionist recognized her immediately, waving her through with a bright, polite smile.
"Hello, Ms. Hawthorne. Are you here to see the CEO?"
"Yes, is it alright if I head up?"
"Of course, you can go right on up."
"Thank you." She nodded her thanks and took the private elevator to his office.
Julius was in the middle of an international video conference, listening intently to an executive speaking, and completely missed the sound of Stella knocking.
Assuming the office was empty and that he might be in another department, she opened the door, planning to wait inside.
It was only after she stepped in that she realized he was on a call.
Damn the elite soundproofing—she hadn't heard a single voice from the hallway.
She was about to quietly back out so she wouldn't disturb him, but his eyes had already locked onto her.
"Come in," he said smoothly.
Left with no choice, Stella stepped inside, aiming for the sofa to quietly wait out his meeting.
Instead, Julius switched to fluent English, addressing the screen. "My wife is here. We will conclude today's meeting now. We'll pick this up next time."
The executives on the other end, however, weren't ready to log off. A chorus of surprised voices erupted through the speakers:
"Wait, wait, wait! Your wife?"
"When did you get married?"
