Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 255

Based on the route Stella described, Julius ordered Marsh to pull the license plate data of the pursuing vehicles.

After grabbing his coat, he escorted her out of the office.

As for the incident at Myriad Treasures Gallery, he wanted to look into that himself to see exactly what this Weber guy was playing at.

His wife had given him the condensed version, but he knew there was more to the story.

He took her to Veridian Court for a nice dinner. Once they returned home and Stella went to shower, he personally hacked into the gallery's security feeds. Scrubbing to the approximate timestamp, he watched the entire interaction between Stella and Weber unfold.

By the time the video ended, his handsome features were clouded with a dark, terrifying rage.

This idiot was actively courting death. How dare he covet his woman?

Knowing full well she was with him, Weber still had the audacity to publicly demand she become his girlfriend?

Seething, he picked up his phone and dialed his chief assistant. "Sean, I want the Harper family's stock tanked by a third tomorrow."

Considering the coward had ultimately scurried away with his tail between his legs, he wouldn't completely destroy them by halving their shares.

But if the heir ever pulled a stunt like this again, all bets were off.

Meanwhile, Marsh reported back. The cars tailing Stella didn't belong to Weber's camp. If they had, Julius wouldn't have let the matter go so easily.

On the other end of the line, Sean replied respectfully, "Understood, Boss."

He had no idea which blind fool in the Harper family had provoked the CEO, but they were clearly asking to be ruined.

When Stella stepped out of the shower, Julius filled her in on the investigation.

"The cars following you weren't sent by Weber. Based on the registration and tracked call logs, the orders came from a guy who goes by Snaggletooth."

Stella frowned. "Snaggletooth? I don't know anyone by that name."

His eyes darkened with worry. "You need to be careful when you go out. Try to stay home unless it's necessary."

"Okay." It wasn't like she went out every day anyway.

The following day, when Julius finally received the traffic cam footage from Marsh, his cool composure shattered entirely.

Was she trying to launch her car into orbit?

Even professional rally drivers weren't that fast!

But watching the calm, calculated way she wove through the heavy traffic, he realized her driving skills far exceeded any professional's.

No wonder she had shaken them off so effortlessly.

He had just discovered yet another one of her hidden talents—she was a lethal driver.

After wrapping up the stalker discussion, he casually added, "By the way, come with me to the Astoria Grand Hotel on Sunday for a dinner. Spouses are required."

A dinner at the Astoria Grand Hotel on Sunday?

That was perfect. She had Wilfred's birthday banquet there on Sunday anyway. She could attend Julius's dinner, and then drag him along to her event. Flawless timing.
