Weber's parents, both in their fifties, were so thoroughly humiliated they didn't even dare lift their heads.
It wasn't their fault their youngest son was a lost cause. Thank God their eldest was actually competent, because if the family's future relied on this idiot, they'd be doomed.
But they knew they were the ones who had spoiled him rotten.
The Harper family was vast, and the extended relatives who had lost millions in the crossfire weren't about to stay quiet. Bitter accusations flew from every corner of the room.
Some cursed Weber, others blamed his parents. The insults grew increasingly vicious.
Weber had caused his fair share of scandals before—some arguably worse than this—but his parents had always just thrown money at the problem until it disappeared, and the rest of the family had kept their mouths relatively shut.
But this time, the entire company's valuation had crashed. Everyone's wallets were bleeding, and they were perfectly happy pointing fingers directly at him and his parents.
Resentment festered in Weber's chest. He silently cursed Julius and his girlfriend.
If that petty bitch hadn't run to her billionaire boyfriend to tattle, he wouldn't be standing here taking this abuse.
"I'm the one who did it! If you have a problem, scream at me! Leave my parents out of it!" He knew his parents spent half their lives cleaning up his messes. He had to defend them.
"Oh, so you think you're the victim here? You think you don't deserve this?!" Augustus roared, his face purple. "Do you have any concept of how many times this family has wiped your ass since you were born?! If you weren't my flesh and blood, I would've beaten you to death years ago!"
Weber's defiance only poured gasoline on the old man's fury.
This absolute disgrace! If he didn't break him now, the boy would put him in an early grave!
Augustus was dead set on teaching him a brutal lesson. Nobody was going to save him today.
A century of the Harper family's legacy was not going to be destroyed by this degenerate!
"From now on, your allowance is capped at two thousand dollars a month. If you want more, get a real job. You eat what you kill. You survive on your own merit. Try learning a damn thing from your brother, you useless waste of space!"
