"Julius is a perfectly normal, straight man. Why wouldn't it be normal for him to get married?" Stella replied.
"Do you even know who I am?"
"If you don't even know who you are, how should I? Julius didn't introduce you earlier, which means you probably aren't anyone important. And usually, it doesn't matter whether one knows insignificant people or not, wouldn't you agree?"
The question was almost laughable. Whoever she was had absolutely nothing to do with Stella.
Besides, she wasn't wrong. If Julius didn't bother to introduce her, it meant she didn't matter.
"You..." Zoe Calvert had intended to come over and make Stella uncomfortable, but instead, she found herself fuming.
She forced herself to calm down and declared, "My name is Zoe Calvert, and I'm the one Julius really loves!"
Stella gave her a sidelong glance. "Oh? Then why didn't he marry you instead of me?"
Zoe sneered angrily, "He'll divorce you sooner or later. Don't get too smug. He loves me!"
Stella shrugged. "Whether we get a divorce is between the two of us. It has absolutely nothing to do with you. Or are you just desperate to be the other woman?"
So she really was one of Julius's fan girls. No wonder she had felt such unfriendly vibes.
Her previous goal had been to divorce Julius and become the richest woman in the world, sure, but she wasn't as set on that idea anymore.
Even if she did want a divorce, it was her and Julius's business. She didn't need outsiders chiming in, and she wouldn't hold back against anyone who tried!
"You... you're the other woman!" Furious, Zoe hurled the wine in her hand straight at Stella. She hadn't expected Stella to be so sharp-tongued when she looked like such a pushover.
She had known Julius first! Why did this woman get to steal him away?!
Stella sighed internally: There it is. The drink-throwing scene has officially commenced!
Playing the victim? Two could play that game.
Julius couldn't bear to see her look so wronged. His heart instantly melted, and he wrapped his arms around her to comfort her. "Anyone who dumps a drink on themselves has serious mental issues. Stay far away from people like that in the future, understand?"
Then, he turned a frigid glare on Zoe. "My wife is delicate and frail. Where would she get the strength to throw a drink at you? Save your ridiculous, self-directed drama for someone else."
If he didn't have a strict rule against hitting women, he would have smacked Zoe into the wall by now.
Tucked safely in Julius's arms, Stella was taken aback.
She was delicate and frail?
Since when?
