Jason walked over just in time to join the fray. "What is your problem, Zoe? Does Stella look like the kind of person to throw a drink at you?
"She barely has the strength to hold a glass! Look at you—you're built like a linebacker, and you're the one holding the cup! Your acting is terrible." He had overheard their entire exchange.
Jason couldn't stand seeing anyone bully Stella. She had completely humiliated Weber Harper for him; they were basically war buddies now.
More importantly, if this brain-dead Zoe caused a rift in his brother's marriage, their grandmother would start pressuring him to get married next.
For some reason, the mere thought of marriage pressure immediately brought the image of that fierce woman, Sabrina Sherwood, to his mind.
He quickly shook his head, trying to banish the terrifying thought.
Stella was stunned once again.
She barely had the strength to hold a glass?
She could literally take down a raging bull bare-handed!
Still, having both brothers defend her so fiercely made her quite happy.
Jason's mouth was absolutely lethal. Zoe was simply a bit taller, with a larger frame and slightly thicker arms, but she was still objectively pretty. Yet he made her sound like a defensive tackle.
Zoe had to be fuming.
"I... How can you say that about me?! She's the one who threw it!"
Zoe was livid. It was bad enough that neither brother took her side, but Julius had essentially called her a psycho, and Jason had body-shamed her in front of everyone!
She was so angry!
Stella stayed tucked in Julius's embrace, continuing her tearful complaints. "Honey, she also told me that you're actually in love with her, and she demanded that I divorce you so the two of you can be together."
She then gently pushed Julius away. "If you already love someone else, why did you even marry me?"
She pinched her own thigh hard, forcing actual tears to well up and stream down her face.
What if she used this as an excuse to demand a divorce again?
He quickly stepped forward and grabbed Stella's hand tightly. He couldn't let her walk away. He absolutely could not let her go!
He pulled her back to his side, his voice thick with panic. "Stella, don't listen to her nonsense. I've never had any feelings for her. You are the only one I love."
Jason quickly chimed in to back his brother up. "Stella, I swear on my life, he absolutely does not like her! She's entirely delusional! Don't let her drive a wedge between you two!"
He had never seen his calm, collected brother look so terrified and flustered, nor had he ever heard him confess his love in front of a crowd.
It was obvious that Julius was head over heels for Stella.
Julius frantically wiped her tears, his heart breaking at the sight. "Please don't cry. I love you. No one else even exists to me."
His strong, fearless girl had never shed a tear, yet today, she had been driven to crying by this awful woman.
Stella was laughing hysterically on the inside. She hadn't expected the usually mature and composed Julius to get so visibly anxious, publicly declaring his love in front of so many people. He was normally such an emotionally reserved guy!
