Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 299

Julius hadn't anticipated Zoe pulling not one, but two stunts to harass Stella in a single night.

Even though Suzanne had thrown the girl out, he had zero desire to keep Stella in this environment. He just wanted to take her home and comfort her.

He led Stella back to the main table to say their goodbyes.

"Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle Vincent, Uncle Timothy, Aunt Yvette, I'm going to take Stella home now."

Wilfred stood up. "Alright, you two head back safely. Little Star, you've been put through the wringer tonight. Make sure Julius brings you to the estate soon. Grandpa has some wonderful things for you."

"Thank you, Grandpa Wilfred."

"Oh, you old coot, just looking for an excuse to show off your trinkets," Fidelia teased her husband, before turning to Stella. "I'll be waiting for you too, dear. Our chef makes spectacular dishes. Just tell me what you like, and I'll have him make it for you."

"Thank you, Grandma Fidelia."

"Now that you've joined our family, you should definitely visit more often," Vincent added.

"I will. Thank you, Uncle Vincent."

"Stella, this is a little something from me. I'm personally endorsing it," Timothy said, handing her a card.

"Thank you, Uncle Timothy," she replied, accepting the card and glancing at it.

A 50% off discount card for local agricultural produce?

What on earth was this?

She had been expecting a platinum or black credit card!

She looked at Julius in bewilderment.

Julius leaned in and whispered, "Uncle Timothy is the mayor of Springwell County. He's currently running a livestream campaign to boost local farmers' sales."

Stella's eyes widened in understanding. So that was it!

No wonder she thought he looked familiar. She must have scrolled past his livestreams.

Afraid of being left out, Yvette quickly chimed in, "Stella, let me know when you visit the estate! Your favorite aunt will take you out to really enjoy life."

Since her job required constant travel, she was rarely home.

Julius drove Stella back to the Imperial Gardens.

She hadn't spoken a single word to him the entire ride back.

Julius was utterly out of his depth. She looked like she might be furious, but she also looked perfectly calm. He couldn't figure out if she was mad at him or not.

Once they were inside, he asked cautiously, "Stella, are you still upset about Zoe?"

Stella gave him a sidelong glance, said absolutely nothing, grabbed her pajamas, and walked into the bathroom to shower.

Julius panicked and frantically googled: How to coax a mad wife?

Be attentive and caring? Offer praise and encouragement? Apologize, take responsibility, confess love, buy gifts?

He closed the browser in disgust. A bunch of useless nonsense. None of it seemed practical.

He decided to use his own proven method: Seduction!

He quickly pulled up photos of top-tier male models on his tablet. They were all shirtless, sporting chiseled pecs and perfect eight-pack abs. More importantly, their faces were flawless—way out of the league of the random guys saved in Stella's phone.
