Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 302

Stella raised an eyebrow. "What? Am I not allowed to come?"

"You can, of course you can. I'm just so happy. Come here." He opened his arms.

Stella walked over and was immediately pulled down onto his lap.

He kissed his wife and asked, "Are you hungry? Did you eat anything when you woke up?"

"Just a little something to hold me over. I'm not hungry yet. I want to have lunch with you later."

"Did you come all this way just to keep me company for lunch?"

"Of course not. Lunch is just a bonus."

"So you actually came to see me for a reason?"

"Nothing major. I just wanted to ask you about your maternal grandparents' family. Hope I'm not interrupting your work?"

"You're not. You can come by whenever you want. Honestly, I'd prefer it if you came to work with me every day so I wouldn't be so bored."

Julius caught her wandering hand. This little troublemaker took every opportunity to feel him up like an absolute menace.

"Well, you go ahead and work then. Tell me about them over lunch. Especially your aunt. I swear she acts like a total wild card."

Julius chuckled to himself. She was calling his aunt a wild card when she was exactly the same?

"I'm not busy right now. Aunt Yvette is ten years older than me, and she's still single. My grandparents constantly stress over her love life."

Ten years older? Julius was twenty-eight, which meant his aunt was thirty-eight? She was pushing forty?

As her parents, it made sense that they would worry.

She already knew about Uncle Timothy from last night—he was the mayor of Springwell County, so there was no need to ask further.

After learning about Yvette, she asked, "What about Uncle Vincent? He looks so serious."

"Uncle Vincent..." Julius leaned in and whispered a few words into Stella's ear.

Stella's eyes widened in shock. Good lord, Julius's maternal family background was terrifyingly powerful. Everyone in the family was an absolute titan. And Uncle Vincent was at the top of the food chain!

No wonder old Mr. Vaughn—no, her grandfather now—no wonder he still radiated such an intimidating aura of authority despite being retired.

A retired general! Incredible!

With the basic questions out of the way, it was time for the main event.

"Now, what is the deal with Zoe Calvert?"
