Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 304

Your grandfather felt that I had saved him from a massive legal nightmare, so he insisted he owed me a favor. He relentlessly pestered me for my contact info, and we ended up bumping into each other a few more times after that."

Hearing this, Julius chuckled softly. "I never would have guessed that in the end, you'd marry his grandson."

"He even invited me to the Coffee Grotto for tea, claiming he wanted to introduce me to an outstanding young man. Who knew that 'outstanding young man' was actually you?"

Stella poked Julius's chest and added, "Well, he wasn't wrong. You certainly are an outstanding young man."

"As long as I meet my wife's standards," Julius said, affectionately pinching her smooth cheek.

The two of them were completely wrapped up in their sweet affection until a knock on the door pulled them apart.

"Come in."

Sean Cahill walked in to give a reminder. "Boss, it's time for your meeting with Mr. Langley. He's already waiting in the reception room."

"Understood. Get the documents ready; I'll be right there."

"Yes, Boss."

Sean greeted Stella before stepping out of the office.

Julius turned to her. "Stella, wait for me here. I have an important client to see. I'll take you to lunch as soon as I get back, alright?"

"Sure, go do your thing. I'll just play some games while I wait."

She didn't feel like wandering around anyway, avoiding the risk of running into someone blind enough to provoke her. She hated dealing with trouble, mostly because she was afraid she wouldn't be able to resist beating them up.

This was Julius's company, after all. Beating up an employee would reflect poorly on him.

But even if she didn't go looking for trouble, trouble had a way of finding her.

She had only been playing her game for about ten minutes when someone blind came knocking.

"Don't bark so loudly. I didn't bring any treats for a dog. I like sitting here, and I'm not leaving. Call security if you think you can."

She hadn't wanted to insult the woman, but this brainless idiot had started yapping the second she walked in. Stella couldn't hold back.

How on earth did Julius's company hire someone with zero common sense?

The fact that she was sitting here comfortably should have been a massive clue that she wasn't just some random trespasser. Yet this woman was screaming at her?

Unbelievable!

"You... you have the nerve to insult me?! I kindly told you to leave, but fine. I'm calling security right now to have you thrown out. Let's see how humiliated you feel then."

"And I'll kindly offer you some advice. Stop barking at me. Otherwise, when your CEO gets back, you might just find yourself out of a job."

Liana scoffed in sheer disbelief. "Talking so big for a little girl! I definitely won't lose my job, but you are absolutely getting thrown out of this building."
