Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 311

At the Jeter household.

After hanging up the phone, Byron Jeter smashed his device against the floor.

"Honey, what happened? Why are you so furious?" Mrs. Jeter asked cautiously.

"You have the nerve to ask? Julius Blackwood just pulled all his collaborations with our family. Our business is taking a massive hit, and it's all thanks to the stunts you and Yvonne pulled!" Byron roared.

He had assumed that since a few days had passed, Julius had let the dinner incident slide.

Now that he was suddenly withdrawing from their partnerships, it wasn't that he didn't care—he just hadn't had the time to deal with them yet.

"This... what do we do?" Mrs. Jeter stammered. Wasn't Julius completely fine? Why was he being so petty?

"What do we do? We go over there and apologize, of course! If the Blackwoods cut us off completely, our revenue will drop by at least a third. Think about how much money we're losing!"

Mrs. Jeter collapsed onto the sofa in shock.

How could Julius be so ruthless?

A third of their revenue!

"Call that ungrateful daughter of yours immediately and tell her to come home. This afternoon, the three of us are going to the Blackwood Manor to pay our respects to Nadine."

Mrs. Jeter looked confused. "What's the point of seeing her? Julius doesn't even live at the Manor. Wouldn't it be better to go straight to Blackwood Group and find him?"

"You really are dense. Julius is already attacking our family directly. Do you honestly think he'd let us see him if we just showed up at his office?"

"Honey, so you want to use Nadine to get to him?"

Lisa lowered her voice. "I'd say that's highly likely. They're already waiting."

The moment Byron stepped through the door, his booming voice echoed. "Hello, Mrs. Blackwood! How has your health been? I've come to pay you a visit."

"Oh, if it isn't Byron. What brings you here? I haven't seen you in over half a year. I was starting to think your family had emigrated!"

Byron laughed awkwardly. "You're joking. Things have just been incredibly busy. As soon as I had a free moment, I came straight to see you."

Nadine had lived a long time. Ever since her husband passed away, she had single-handedly held up Blackwood Group. There was no type of person she hadn't seen, and she had seen through Byron's facade a long time ago.

Ever since Byron found out that her eldest grandson's legs couldn't be cured, he felt Julius was no longer worthy of being his son-in-law, realizing an alliance with the Blackwoods was hopeless.

But because his daughter was obsessed with Julius, he shipped her off abroad just to sever her attachments.
