Julius paused for a moment before continuing, "Wade, the person you actually wanted to kill was Stella, wasn't it?"
Wade's pupils dilated slightly. "How did you know?"
"I checked the room Gideon was staying in. When Stella was hypnotizing him, you were in the tree outside her window, listening to everything.
You wanted to kill her so you could potentially keep working with Gideon. But where she was sitting didn't give you a clear shot, so you silenced him instead, right?"
His suspicions had started right after leaving Gideon's place. After hearing Stella's breakdown of the situation later, he was absolutely certain Wade was the mole.
Tonight's setup was specifically designed to flush him out.
Wade let out a bitter laugh. "So you knew all along. I really didn't expect her to be that skilled. She actually knew hypnosis. And Gideon was a useless fool who lost because he couldn't control his lust.
You're right, I did want to kill her, but the angle was bad. Later, in the woods, I tried for the second time.
But she was too cautious. If I had used force, I would have exposed myself, so she slipped away again."
Julius asked, "So you've been a traitor for a while now. When Marsh, you, and I went to investigate that lead, you tipped them off beforehand, which is why those assassins ambushed us, right?"
Wade sneered coldly. "Yeah, that was me. It's a shame you got lucky and survived that one too."
"Too? Does that mean you've plotted against me before?" Julius's frown deepened.
"Haha, of course! Why do you think your legs never healed? Because they were poisoned! Normal hospital treatments were never going to cure you!"
"So you were the one who poisoned me? You're ruthless." Julius slowly lowered his gun, his entire demeanor sinking into deep sorrow.
Frustrated, Julius punched a concrete pillar in sheer anger!
But anger wouldn't solve the problem.
He hurried back to his car, pulled out his laptop, and uploaded the footage captured by the micro-camera hidden in his tie clip.
Then he made a call, requesting high command to issue an immediate arrest warrant for Wade.
Afterward, he called Marsh to inform him that Wade had escaped.
Without wasting another second, he drove straight home.
Stella was at the house, and he was terrified that a desperate Wade might target her.
