Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 339

The audience held their breath in suspense, especially the Veridia captain, whose forehead was slick with nervous sweat. He was terrified Stella wouldn't survive a single strike.

He leaned over to the man next to him. "That guy won a gold medal yesterday. His close-quarters combat is lethal. I don't know if she can even handle one move."

The man grimaced. "It doesn't look good."

Even though Julius knew how capable she was, he still watched the ring with tense anticipation.

Stella simply tilted her head, effortlessly dodging the massive man's strike.

The Faldorian fighter hadn't expected her to evade his punch so easily and looked visibly surprised.

"I believe you Veridians have a saying about 'dumb luck.' That was nothing but a fluke. Now, prepare to die."

With that, the massive man lunged at Stella again.

Stella drifted lightly to the side, evading his attack completely once more.

Watching closely, the captain excitedly grabbed his companion. "She's actually got skills! Maybe she wasn't bluffing after all. I'm starting to believe in her."

His companion remained cautious. "Let's wait and see. It might just be beginner's luck." He still couldn't wrap his head around a young girl being that formidable.

The Faldorian fighter, humiliated that she had dodged him again, shouted in frustration, "Stop dodging! Fight me if you have the guts!"

Stella replied in her uniquely blunt English, "I'm not dodging, I was giving you a handicap. I gave you two free passes, but I'm not giving a third. The third move is when you get knocked out. I won't go easy on you anymore, so you better watch out."

As soon as the words left her mouth, she went on the offensive.

The man hadn't anticipated her terrifying speed. Before he could even process her words, she was basically a blur right in front of him.

By the time he realized he needed to dodge, it was too late. Stella's fists slammed directly into both of his eyes.

She controlled her force perfectly—it wasn't enough to blind him, but it was more than enough to instantly swell both his eyes into massive, bruised black eyes.

"And a kick for good measure. Get out!"

He was so overwhelmed with excitement that "thank you" was all he could manage to say.

Just surviving the first round without being eliminated was an incredible feat. Even if she lost the next match, she had already salvaged Veridia's pride.

"No need to thank me. Don't worry, I'm going to win the whole thing."

Julius gave her a huge thumbs-up, praising her, "You were amazing, darling!"

He freely admitted that Stella was a better fighter than him. If they ever sparred, he'd likely be the one hitting the mat.

Everyone had their own strengths, and admitting someone was better wasn't difficult at all—especially when it meant acknowledging how extraordinary his wife was.

"Piece of cake," Stella said proudly.

Steve had also won his first-round elimination match. He glanced over at Stella. He hadn't expected her to show up here, only recognizing her once she stepped into the ring.

Mr. Wilson had taken a keen interest in her. If Steve could defeat her and deliver her to him, Mr. Wilson would be thrilled, and it would definitely smooth over his anger regarding the botched referee situation yesterday.
