He hadn't been at the arena yesterday, but he had watched the news and seen the footage of the incident.
"Come on, anyone with eyes could see what was happening. I was just the loudest one in the room. Doesn't this country pride itself on freedom of speech? Was I not allowed to yell?"
"You... yes, of course you were. It's just that he was an absolute moron."
This girl wasn't just physically lethal; she had a razor-sharp tongue too. He liked that.
"So, Wilson, what exactly are you planning to do with me now that I'm here?"
Having asked all the questions she needed, it was time to figure out his endgame.
Once she knew his plan, she could make hers.
Wilson hooked a finger under her chin. "Originally, my plan was to chop whoever I found into tiny pieces. But seeing as it's you... considering how gorgeous you are, you can make it up to me by becoming my woman."
He had a profound weakness for beautiful Eastern women, especially someone like Stella—stunningly pretty, petite, and seemingly fragile. She was exactly his type.
If she wasn't, he wouldn't have been instantly captivated by her at the Astoria Grand Hotel months ago.
He was going to make her his, and she would spend the rest of her life compensating him for the agony of losing his leg.
Stella nodded thoughtfully. "Oh, I see. Well, I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed. I'm already married. I have a husband."
Wilson waved it off dismissively. "That doesn't matter. I prefer women with experience. As for your husband—
I assume that's the guy in the car behind us? The moment we arrive at my compound, I'll have him executed. Problem solved. You won't have a husband anymore."
This Wilson guy was truly vile. Stealing someone's wife was bad enough, but murdering the husband too?
The car decelerated smoothly. After driving for a few more minutes, the two men up front finally stopped watching her so closely.
Sensing the perfect moment, Stella slipped a small, concealed silver needle from her clothes. In a flash, she jammed it directly into a pressure point on Wilson's neck.
Wilson was instantly paralyzed, completely unable to move a muscle.
She reached down, snatched his gun from the seat, and pressed it hard against his temple. "Tell them to pull over right now, or I blow your brains out."
The thing she hated most in this world was having guns or fingers pointed at her head. Second was being choked. Third was people touching her face.
Wilson had just committed all three offenses. These were massive red flags, and she was thoroughly pissed off!
The last person who had held a blade to her throat—Wade—had gotten his ribs shattered and was currently rotting in prison.
