"Fine."
Stella smoothly plucked the silver needle from his neck, though she kept the gun aimed squarely at his head.
With two guns pointed directly at his skull, Wilson had no choice but to comply.
He barked an order to his men: "Everyone, back in the cars! We're leaving!"
"Yes, sir!"
Once Wilson and his convoy had sped off, Julius frantically checked Stella from head to toe. Only when he was absolutely certain she was completely unharmed did he finally pull her into a tight embrace. "Thank God you're okay. I was so worried about you."
"I'm fine. You know exactly what I'm capable of, there's no need to worry. But we really need to get out of here before Wilson changes his mind and doubles back."
Julius nodded firmly. "Agreed. Let's go."
They jumped into the stolen car and sped off into the distance.
Instead of heading back to their hotel to pack, they drove straight toward the airport.
The house they had been staying at belonged to Julius anyway, so it didn't matter if they left their belongings behind.
Furious over his humiliating defeat, Wilson erupted in the back of his car.
"Damn it! They better pray they never fall into my hands again, or they are dead!"
His subordinate tried to calm him down. "Please don't be angry, sir. Let's just head back to Lyran and regroup. We'll find a way to deal with them eventually."
There was nothing else they could do for now.
But the moment he found an opening, he was going to make that couple pay!
He was absolutely livid!
...
Julius and Stella booked the very next flight back to Veridia Country.
And he never would have known just how terrifyingly powerful she really was.
"Well, everything turned out fine in the end. Let's just go home. The airplane food was awful, I'm exhausted, and I'm starving. I just want to take a shower and sleep."
Julius guided her toward the exit. "Let's go. The bodyguards are already waiting outside."
"You know, Julius, I bet we're the only people in the world who go on an international trip and come back completely empty-handed. We don't even have a single piece of luggage. People probably think we just came here to drop someone off."
"Empty-handed, carefree, and traveling light. Isn't that the best way to travel?"
"It really is."
Chatting comfortably, they soon stepped out of the airport.
The bodyguards had been waiting for quite some time. Spotting the couple, they immediately rushed out to open the car doors for them.
The bodyguards drove them straight back to the Imperial Gardens. Julius quickly whipped up some pasta, and after finishing their meal, they finally washed up and went to sleep.
