Nadine nodded and said, "Julius's idea is wonderful. The Autumn Gala is the perfect excuse. I'll invite plenty of young ladies from prominent families over to celebrate.
Jason, you better take a good look and see if any of them catch your eye. If you really don't like any of them, I'll figure something else out for you."
"Grandma, that's really not necessary. I can find a girlfriend on my own."
Jason was filled with absolute regret. Why did he have to run his big mouth? He had completely shot himself in the foot.
He shot a look at his older brother, his eyes practically screaming: *Please let me off the hook, I know I messed up!*
A little brother was just a little brother; he was no match for the boss!
However, when the topic of a girlfriend came up, the image of that fierce woman, Sabrina Sherwood, inexplicably flashed through his mind.
He quickly shook his head, trying to toss her image out.
He had to be losing his mind!
Nadine's tone brooked no refusal. "What do you mean 'not necessary'? If you could find one yourself, would I still be waiting for you to bring someone home? It's settled. I'll make the arrangements."
Thinking about the near future, where she would have a great-grandchild and a new granddaughter-in-law, Nadine was so delighted she ate an extra half bowl of food.
......
Julius moved fast. The very next day, he had Sean Cahill find a professional event planner to go to the manor and help Larry prepare for the Autumn Gala.
After quickly finalizing the event schedule with Larry, the planner brought his entire team in that same day to get everything ready.
The real reason Julius had conspired with Jason and Nadine to make the Autumn Gala such a massive affair was that he wanted to use the opportunity to tell all the prominent families that he was married, and Stella was his wife.
Previously, she hadn't let him tell anyone they were married because she fully intended to divorce him after a year.
But after they had that deep conversation, she never brought up divorce again.
Later on, when he slowly started testing the waters by revealing her identity as his wife to a small circle at the company, she didn't object.
She especially felt Sabrina would be a perfect match for Jason, and she wanted to play matchmaker.
Of course, Norma was amazing too, but she wouldn't show her face at something like this, so that was out of the question.
When Sabrina Sherwood saw Stella's text, she found it extremely odd.
She replied: [What exactly is your relationship with the Blackwood family?]
It was one thing for Nadine to personally invite her to the Blackwood Manor for the gala, but then Jason had called her, demanding she cooperate with him on something?
She hadn't even heard him clearly before he abruptly hung up.
And now Stella was messaging to invite her? What was Stella's connection to the Blackwoods?
Stella replied: [You'll find out when you get here tonight.]
Don't think she didn't know what Julius was scheming. He just wanted the place packed with as many people as possible so he could proudly declare his status as her husband to the whole world.
