Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 356

"I know, Mom. Don't worry."

Yvonne was in a fantastic mood now that she was cleared to attend the Blackwood event. She would agree to whatever her mother said.

But how could she possibly pass up the chance to upset that miserable bitch?

Tonight, she was going to humiliate her in front of absolutely everyone.

She hadn't found the opportunity to get payback for the clothing incident at Crestview Plaza yet!

She refused to believe that she, a prominent daughter of the Jeter family, couldn't outshine some nobody!

That evening.

The Blackwood Manor was buzzing with activity.

The estate was massive, and the event was hosted in the expansive back garden.

Sylvie Jennings and Cecilia Eames rarely had a day off, so upon receiving Stella's invitation, they were so hyped that they showed up earlier than everyone else, eager to see her.

They arrived at exactly the same time, bumping into each other right outside the main gates.

Since they both ran in wealthy social circles, they already knew each other and quickly exchanged greetings.

"Sylvie, I didn't expect to run into you here."

"I know, right? It's been forever since we last saw each other, Cecilia."

"Well, we don't go to the same school. Oh, by the way, I'll introduce you to a good friend of mine later. She's the one who invited me tonight."

Sylvie actually had plans with her classmates initially, but since Stella personally invited her, she absolutely had to show up.

"Stop talking nonsense. It's about time, let's head downstairs so we don't end up neglecting the guests. We wouldn't want anyone gossiping about the Blackwood family being poor hosts."

"Alright." Julius was so incredibly pleased by her casually saying "we" that he pressed a kiss to her cheek, then took her hand and led her downstairs.

The moment they reached the ground floor, Nadine spotted them and her eyes crinkled into a delighted smile. "My, my, my granddaughter-in-law looks absolutely breathtaking. You and Julius are a match made in heaven. Just perfect."

"I think you look wonderful today, too. That dress gives you such a vibrant glow, and you look so elegant and distinguished."

Flattered by her granddaughter-in-law's praise, Nadine beamed from ear to ear. "Yes, yes, yes, we all look fabulous. By the way, two of your friends arrived early specifically to see you. They headed out to the back garden a few minutes ago. Do you want to go say hi to them first?"

"Sure thing. I'll go greet them." After telling Nadine, Stella shot Julius a playful wink before making her way toward the back garden.

The corners of Julius's mouth quirked up. He couldn't hide his fantastic mood if he tried.
