Stella walked into the back garden and, sure enough, spotted Sylvie and Cecilia already sitting together chatting.
"So you two already know each other."
"We sure do! We actually went to the same elementary school together! Oh my god, Stella, I missed you so much!"
Seeing her goddess walk over, Cecilia excitedly rushed forward and threw her arms around her.
The last time Julius had brought Stella to her house for dinner, she had tried to hug her, but that absolute jealousy-monster Julius had shut it down.
Now, while Julius wasn't around, she was going to take full advantage and hug her goddess.
Sylvie hurried over, peeled Cecilia away, and pulled Stella into a hug of her own. "Stella, I missed you too!"
"Alright, alright, I missed you both too." She returned their hugs briefly before stepping back.
It made sense for Sylvie to call her by an affectionate title since she was younger, but Cecilia was technically older and still insisted on addressing her with total reverence.
The three of them sat down to chat.
Curiosity getting the better of her, Sylvie asked, "Stella, what exactly is your relationship with the Blackwood family? You refused to tell me on text, and it's been driving me crazy!"
Stella replied calmly, "I'm Julius's wife."
Sylvie practically jumped out of her skin. "Wait, Stella, I don't think I heard you right. Could you repeat that?"
Stella let out a soft laugh. "You heard me perfectly, Sylvie. I said I am Julius's wife."
Sylvie looked over at Cecilia, who was sitting there completely unfazed. "Cecilia, did you already know she was married?!"
"Not that much earlier. I just found out a little before you did. I invited her over for dinner to thank her for saving my life, and that's when I found out."
Cecilia nodded vigorously. "It's true! You have no idea, Stella. When I was little, my mom constantly used Sabrina as the gold standard and called me a slacker. She said I couldn't even compare to one of Sabrina's fingertips!"
Back then, she had actually resented Sabrina. Why did she have to be so freakishly smart?
It was only when she grew up that she realized her own shortcomings. Only useless people blamed those who were simply better than them.
Sabrina laughed. "You guys are totally exaggerating."
She had always been a straight-A student. In high school, she even used to tutor Jason Blackwood.
She had intentionally arrived early today because she wanted to corner Jason and demand to know what he meant on the phone when he told her to "cooperate" with him. She also wanted to know what Stella's connection to the Blackwoods was.
But when she arrived, Jason was nowhere to be found. Julius had mentioned that Stella was in the back garden, so she had headed straight here.
Stella smiled. "Well, if you all already know each other, that's perfect. I was actually worried I'd be too busy to entertain you properly tonight."
