Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 361

Sabrina was stunned by Jason's kiss for a long moment. Once she snapped out of it, she shoved him away and landed a hard slap across his face.

"Jason, are you crazy? Why would you kiss me?"

Jason wasn't even mad about the slap. He touched his lips with a goofy grin and muttered, "It's not like it's our first kiss. Why are you so worked up?"

Her lips were so soft, so sweet.

"What are you muttering about? I asked you a question!" And he was just standing there grinning like a trust fund idiot.

"It's nothing. Sabrina, just help me out, please?"

Sabrina broke out in goosebumps. Jason was acting exactly like he did back in school—whining to get his way.

He was a grown man, and he was whining. It was too embarrassing to watch!

"Come on, Sabrina. Helping others is the key to happiness. Just do me this one favor?" Jason pleaded relentlessly. He knew this tactic worked on her.

Just like back when he couldn't finish his homework, he used the exact same trick to guilt her into doing it.

"Stop, stop, enough with the act. I'll help you, but if Nadine finds out later, you're taking full responsibility. Don't expect me to cover for you."

She really couldn't stand his pathetic puppy-dog look!

"Deal! I'll take all the blame. Whatever you say goes." Having achieved his goal, Jason was thrilled.

As for the future, he would deal with it when it came.

"Let's go downstairs. If my grandmother doesn't bring it up, we'll act like nothing happened. If she asks, I'll tell her you're my girlfriend. You better not drop the ball on me."

Sabrina glared at him. "Do I look like that kind of person? When have I ever backed out of a promise?"

"Never. I know you're loyal and reliable."

She might be fierce with him, but she never went back on her word.

Julius ignored her.

Nadine didn't want her talking to her eldest grandson. "Yvonne, you're here. Why don't you head straight to the back garden? The main events will be starting there soon."

"Alright, I'll head over."

Although Yvonne wanted to say a few more words to Julius, there were people everywhere, and he wouldn't even look at her. She swallowed her pride and held back.

She had spent a lot of time playing at the Manor as a kid, so she knew her way around and confidently walked toward the back garden.

When she got there, she spotted a familiar face—Rhoda Ford.

*She got an invite?*

Would the Blackwood matriarch really rather invite a scandalous half-sister like Rhoda over a legitimate daughter of the Jeter family like herself?

And to think their families used to be close!
