Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 382

"Get lost!"

His wife was perfectly satisfied with him, and even praised his stamina!

...

Two days later, Stella and Julius set off for Port City.

Upon arrival, they checked into a luxurious hotel that had been booked in advance.

Sean Cahill had arranged everything, securing a presidential suite for the couple.

It was already late afternoon. After settling in and freshening up, they took a cab to Trinity Lane, the most bustling street in the area.

It was a lively pedestrian street and a vibrant hub for food, known for offering the most authentic local flavors.

Stella had one goal in mind: she wanted to eat the famous local braised pork stew.

The street had an old-world charm. Looking down its length, it was lined with historic architecture and traditional, characteristic tea houses that radiated local culture.

Stella had been to Port City before with Fifth Master, staying for over a month, so she was quite familiar with the area.

She knew exactly where to find the most authentic cuisine and where to buy the best quality goods without getting ripped off.

Guiding Julius through a maze of winding alleys, she led him to an old-fashioned, unassuming restaurant and seamlessly ordered in the local dialect.

"Stella, how do you know the language here?" Xanburg and Port City shared the same dialect. As a native of the capital, he could barely pick up a few words, let alone speak it.

"I spent over a month here before. If you hear it enough, you pick it up. Don't let the rundown look of this place fool you; the food is incredible and completely authentic."

More importantly, this was the perfect spot to eavesdrop on the locals' gossip, which was always a goldmine for information.

Oakes' voice carried a hint of excitement, clearly thrilled by the prospect.

"Great, we'll meet at the usual spot tonight." The floral-shirted man looked just as pleased.

Just then, their food arrived.

The two men seemed like regulars. The owner brought their plates over personally and chatted with them for a moment.

As Stella slowly savored her meal, she listened to every single word they said.

To anyone else, it might have just sounded like casual banter, but she knew exactly where those two were heading tonight.

Because she and Fifth Master used to run the tables at that exact same place.
