Stella wasn't in a rush. She and Julius took their time eating, only setting down her fork after the two men had finished their meals and left.
She was definitely going to the place those men had mentioned tonight. She wanted to find out exactly who this "Nina" was.
Since she didn't have a solid lead on her grandfather's whereabouts yet, heading to a place swarming with all sorts of characters might just yield some unexpected clues.
It had been her original plan to gather intel there anyway.
She just wondered if Julius would be totally out of his element if he tagged along tonight.
"Stella, what's on your mind?" Julius noticed her zoning out and gently called her name.
"Oh, just thinking about the fun place I'm taking you tonight." She stood up with a smile.
Julius chuckled. "Is that right? Where are you taking me? You're not planning to sell me off, are you?"
They chatted as they walked out of the restaurant.
"You're way too handsome to sell. Come on, let's go grab some coffee up ahead. That spot is famous for it. Look, there's already a huge line."
Julius followed her gaze and saw a massive crowd queued up in the distance.
The street was already narrow, and the long line made it feel even more cramped.
When they reached the coffee stand, Julius told Stella to wait in a less crowded spot. He insisted on standing in line himself so she wouldn't get jostled by the crowd.
This was an entirely new experience for him. He had never actually stood in line to buy anything before.
Usually, whatever he wanted was brought directly to him with a single command.
Stella watched him from afar. Dressed in casual clothes, his towering height and striking features made him stand out effortlessly in the sea of people.
The girls lined up behind him, assuming he couldn't see them, openly stared at him like he was a piece of meat. Even the girls in front of him kept glancing back.
The man smirked. "How about we exchange numbers, then? I'd love to get to know you."
"I don't think so. My husband wouldn't like that."
Refusing to back down, the guy leaned in. "Come on, gorgeous, don't be so quick to shoot me down. That guy looks like a tourist. Dump him and be my girl. I promise you'll get whatever you want, and you'll live better than anyone else here."
She was stunning, and he was determined to have her.
Stella shrugged. "But I already have everything I could ever want."
Seeing that his smooth talk wasn't working, the man reached out to grab her hand. Before his fingers could even brush against her, his wrist was clamped in a vice-like grip.
"What do you think you're doing to my wife?" Julius demanded, his voice dangerously low.
The man howled in pain as the grip threatened to crush his bones. "Ow, ow, ow! Let go!"
