Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 405

Inside the Lowell estate.

Marcus summoned both his son and daughter to the living room.

He recounted the disaster at Blackwood Group, explaining how he had been humiliated and barred from entering the building.

Turning a furious glare on his daughter, he demanded, "Una, when did you bully Julius's wife? Don't even think about lying. Tell me everything!"

He knew his daughter. She was spoiled, manipulative, and incredibly arrogant—the perfect recipe for making enemies.

He had tried to discipline her over the years, clearly with zero success.

Una had never seen her father this furious. She instinctively shrank back, inching closer to her mother.

"Dad, I didn't bully his wife! If anything, she bullied me!" she muttered, refusing to meet his eyes.

At Shirley & Co. Jewelers, that country bumpkin had deliberately driven up the price and tricked her into buying that stupid bracelet. Then she came home covered in a painful, itchy rash that was pure torture.

And at Sylvie Jennings' birthday party... she didn't have proof, but she just knew that country hick was the reason she had made a total fool of herself in front of everyone.

Honestly, she was the real victim here.

"I didn't bully her! I am not apologizing!" she snapped defiantly. "And so what if we don't get the Blackwood project? It's not like our family's survival depends entirely on them!"

Apologize to that peasant? Her reputation would be ruined!

She didn't care if the girl was married to Julius!

She wasn't going to do it!

Marcus, utterly enraged by her bratty attitude, pointed a trembling finger at her. "Still acting stubborn, are you? Fine. Perfect. As of today, your allowance is gone. Every credit card in your name is frozen. You've lived like a spoiled princess for way too long. It's time you learned how hard it is to make a living."
