Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 450

It had been far too long since she'd had a hot meal. The moment the warm broth and noodles hit her stomach, she swore it was the best thing she had ever tasted.

She had been starving these past few days. Surviving on stale buns alone, she felt like she'd lost at least five pounds.

If Julius knew that the tiny bit of weight he'd worked so hard to help her put on was gone, he'd be heartbroken.

It had been about ten days since she last saw him.

She missed him so much!

Had he made it back from South Africa yet?

Stella's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the front door unlocking.

The hostile woman had returned exactly two hours later, dropping off a fresh set of clothes, from outerwear to underwear.

The only problem? The style and quality were atrocious. A sixty-year-old grandmother would have better taste.

Clearly, this was intentional. She purposefully bought the ugliest, tackiest clothes she could find, hoping Tiger would be instantly turned off.

"You. Go buy some groceries and stock the fridge. It's completely empty."

Since the woman was going out of her way to be hostile, Stella felt no need to be polite. Ordering her around was the fastest way to get under her skin.

Right on cue, the woman flared up. "Don't think just because Tiger likes you right now that you can boss me around! Who the hell do you think you are? I only take orders from Tiger. You have no right to tell me what to do!"

Stella shrugged nonchalantly. "Fine, don't buy anything. I'm going to rest. See yourself out."

The woman stormed off, her high heels clicking furiously against the floor.

Stella tossed the tacky clothes into the washing machine, ran them through the dryer, and changed into them.

Going commando wasn't an option. If Tiger came back and suddenly decided to act like an animal, she'd be at a severe disadvantage.

By the time she finished everything, the sun had set, and right on schedule, Tiger walked through the door.
