After luring these victims in, they used every ruthless tactic imaginable to break them, forcing them to beg their families for money. And even when the families paid, the victims were never released.
Once the families were bled completely dry, they were forced to scam their relatives and friends. Anyone who refused or failed to meet their quota was subjected to savage beatings and torture.
The methods detailed in the files were unspeakably brutal, far beyond human endurance.
Eventually, unable to withstand the relentless abuse, many simply perished in this foreign land, their bodies discarded.
Stella had seen the news reports back home. She knew exactly how this worked. First, the promise of high-paying jobs, and second, romance scams.
Romance scams were tragic, but at least the victims only lost their money; they kept their lives. But if you were lured across the border to North Myanor, it was a one-way ticket to hell.
White-hot fury coursed through Stella’s veins. This bastard, Tiger... he was the mastermind running this entire massive compound.
She carefully placed everything back exactly as she had found it.
Now was not the time to strike. She couldn't risk making a single wrong move. Once Tiger fully trusted her, she was going to make sure he paid for every single drop of blood on his hands.
She quietly closed the study door and slipped back into the bedroom.
...
The next morning, Tiger woke up with a splitting headache.
Stella walked in holding a bowl of a specially prepared hangover remedy. “Tiger, drink this. It’ll make the headache go away. I had Celine go out bright and early to buy the ingredients, and I simmered it for half an hour. It’s the perfect temperature now.”
He squinted at her. His head felt like it was going to explode, yet she looked completely fine?
She even had the energy to get up and brew him a remedy?
“Does your head... not hurt?”
“It did! But I drank a bowl of this just now, and it works wonders. You won't feel a thing after you drink it, I promise.”
He took the bowl and downed the remedy.
