"Based on the research I did beforehand, I've pinpointed a few locations where Kael might show up. We're going to split up. The moment anyone spots him, grab him."
Julius gave everyone the list of locations and sent a photo of Kael to their phones.
Stella chimed in, "This Kael is a slippery one. I didn't expect him to be so well-connected here in Florian City."
Julius nodded. "Which is why everyone needs to be careful. Find him first, but don't alert him. We're on his turf, and local power often overrides outside influence. Once you spot him, let me know and just tail him. Do not engage recklessly."
As the head of the mining operations, Kael had likely embezzled a fortune. He had either fled to Florian City with the stolen funds to start over after faking his death, or he had been quietly building his own local empire here all along.
Either way, playing it safe in enemy territory was the right move.
"Understood, Mr. Blackwood," the guards replied before heading out.
"Stella, let's go too. We'll see if we can get lucky and run into him ourselves."
"Okay."
The two of them checked the spots where Kael was most likely to appear. If anyone asked, they simply claimed to be a married couple on vacation.
However, after wandering around for most of the day, they came up empty-handed. Since they were hungry, they decided to grab a bite at a nearby restaurant.
It was an elegant five-star establishment. They ordered a few of the chef's specialties.
"Julius, I'm going to run to the restroom real quick."
"Want me to go with you?"
"No, I'm not a little kid who needs an escort to the bathroom."
"Hurry back, then."
"I will."
As Stella was walking out of the restroom, she collided with an older man coming around the corner.
She had been looking down and wasn't paying attention. Realizing it was her fault, she quickly apologized. "I'm sorry, sir. I wasn't looking where I was going."
The man she bumped into wasn't bothered. "It's quite alright. Just be careful."
