At the Imperial Hotel.
"Sir, we've looked into the young lady. She is staying at the hotel next to ours. The man with her is her husband. After they finished their meal, they went straight back to their room. According to the hotel registry, they're both from Veridia Country. It appears they're just here on vacation."
Inside the suite, a subordinate in a sharp suit was reporting to the older man.
If Stella had been there, she would have instantly recognized him as the man she bumped into near the restroom.
The older man's expression was unreadable. "Keep looking into her. Put a tail on her. If you can manage to discreetly get a strand of her hair or a blood sample, do it. If not, just keep watching her. If she goes back to Veridia Country, have someone follow her there too. We need a full background check before we make any moves."
This was far too important. He couldn't just approach her recklessly now, or he might inadvertently put her in danger.
"Understood, sir."
After the subordinate left, the man fell into deep thought.
...
Stella had absolutely no idea that someone was quietly investigating her, let alone having her followed, because she hadn't left her hotel room all afternoon.
She waited until evening before heading out with Julius.
Following the address provided by the bodyguard, they arrived outside a massive, brilliantly lit estate.
Taking in the sheer size of the property, Stella whistled in awe. "Wow, Julius, it looks like Kael is doing even better than you are. Look at how massive this place is."
Julius let out an amused huff. "It's just an estate. I have a property in the Yaran Federation that's three times this size—I'll give it to you. I also have a massive vineyard in Faldoria Country—I'll give you that too.
As long as you like it, everything I own is yours. Don't waste your time envying other people. Just remember, you have a very wealthy husband."
