Stella pursed her lips, which were now numb from his intense kiss. The man seemed genuinely upset.

"Alright, I won't bring it up again. The bodyguards are here, let's go."

Joking about divorce constantly wasn't a good habit anyway. Say things enough times, and they might accidentally manifest into reality.

As long as he was faithful to her, she would never divorce him.

They met up with the bodyguards a few moments later.

The lead guard reported, "Mr. Blackwood, Kael returned to the estate about half an hour ago."

Julius pulled a mini-laptop from his backpack, flipped it open, and typed rapidly for a minute. "Call him right now. Tell him you have something extremely important to give him and he needs to come outside personally to get it."

The bodyguard looked confused. "Mr. Blackwood, if we just call him out of the blue, will he actually believe it?"

"Don't worry. I spoofed your number to match his cousin Quintin's. Just pretend to be Quintin and lure him out. The rest of you, stay hidden. The second he steps out, grab him."

"Understood, sir."

The bodyguard dialed Kael's number.

Kael answered, but he didn't immediately agree. Suspicion laced his voice. "Quintin, why does your voice sound weird?"

The bodyguard let out a fake, raspy cough. "I caught a cold. Hurry up and come outside. Faye gave me something to pass on to you. She said it's incredibly important and I have to hand it to you personally. I can't come inside right now, so hurry up."

Hearing that it was something important from Faye completely lowered his guard. "Alright, wait there. I'll be right out."

"Okay, I'm waiting at the blind corner right by the front gates. Hurry up."

Hanging up the phone, the bodyguard nodded. "Mr. Blackwood, he took the bait."

Julius nodded sharply. "Good. Everyone get in position. The moment he steps out, execute the plan."

The team quickly dispersed, melting into the shadows.

Ten minutes later, Kael strolled out of the gates. He walked over to the corner, glancing around, but his cousin was nowhere to be seen.
