Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 539

Julius's voice was ice cold. "What's the matter? Seeing me here scares you? Where was this fear when you were scheming against me, Kael?"

Kael began begging frantically. "Mr. Blackwood, I made a mistake! Please let me go, I'm begging you, let me go!"

"Sure. Tell me where your cousin is hiding, and I'll consider it."

The regional manager of the branch office had informed him that Quintin had abruptly resigned a week ago.

Quitting was one thing, but the bastard had stolen highly sensitive company documents, costing the branch a massive sum of money.

Julius had come all this way to deal with Quintin as well.

Kael hesitated. "I... I don't know where he is. He doesn't have a permanent address, he just bounces around."

Julius's eyes turned lethal. "You don't want to talk? Fine. Show him some hospitality. When he's ready to tell the truth, you can stop."

"Yes, sir."

The bodyguards unleashed a flurry of calculated kicks and punches, beating Kael until he was screaming for mercy.

"Stop! Please, stop hitting me! I'll tell you, I'll tell you!"

One of the guards spat in disgust. "Should've just said that to begin with, you piece of trash!"

He delivered one final, brutal punch to Kael's gut for good measure. "Spit it out!"

Coughing and gagging, Kael gasped out, "Stop... I'll tell you!"

"He's at 32 Ridome Road."

Quintin, that useless idiot. Kael had explicitly told him not to come to Florian City, but he just had to show up. And now, they were both about to be taken down in one fell swoop.

But how on earth did Julius find out he faked his death?

He was certain his plan was flawless. He had even secured a golden future for the daughter he had with his first wife.
