The bodyguard spoke up. "Mr. Blackwood, I'll take over the watch. You and Mrs. Blackwood should get some rest."
"Alright. The second he shows up, wake me."
"Understood."
Half an hour later, Quintin finally made an appearance.
"Mr. Blackwood, he's back. He's at the door right now."
Julius and Stella immediately sat up. They had only been resting their eyes and hadn't actually fallen asleep.
"Let's go. We move now."
The three of them moved swiftly downstairs.
Quintin was completely plastered, fumbling with his keys for ages but failing to get the door open.
He squinted at the lock, slurring, "This is the right key... why won't this stupid thing open?"
The bodyguard closed the distance in seconds, delivering a clean strike to the back of his neck. Quintin crumpled to the ground, out cold.
He threw the unconscious man over his shoulder and carried him to the van.
With Quintin secured in the back, they drove straight back to the abandoned house.
But when they walked through the doors, they found their two guards tied up and gagged. Kael was nowhere to be seen.
Julius rushed forward, ripping the gags from their mouths and cutting them loose. "What happened?"
Before either of them could answer, the entire group was surrounded. Roughly twenty men poured out of the shadows, all armed with metal pipes and bats.
Kael stepped out from behind the mob, a sinister grin on his face. "Mr. Blackwood, didn't expect this, did you? Looks like you're the one on the chopping block now."
