Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 547

Regardless of his motives, they had to admit the older man's intervention made things significantly easier. They originally thought they'd have to waste much more time and energy fighting their way out.

Julius made a swift decision. "Stella, let's get out of here first."

"Agreed." This was no place to linger. Staying too long could lead to more unexpected trouble; leaving immediately was the smartest move.

The bodyguards hoisted the unconscious Quintin onto their shoulders and headed for the exit.

When the group stepped outside, they found the warehouse guards knocked out cold on the ground, just as promised. Next to them lay a large burlap sack.

Following the man's earlier claim, the sack supposedly contained Kael.

One of the bodyguards untied the top and peeked inside. "Boss, it's Kael, alright."

"Take him with us!"

After loading Quintin and Kael into the vehicle, they sped away from the compound.

Since they couldn't figure out the mysterious man's true intentions, they didn't trust the car he had left for them. Halfway through the journey, they paid out of pocket to switch vehicles, just in case it had been tampered with or tracked.

With five people and two prisoners in tow, they finally left Florian City behind.

Meanwhile, back in Florian City, Gina Gould slept in until noon. When she finally drove from her estate to the warehouse, she found it completely empty. Furious, she slapped her subordinates across the face.

"Where the hell is Kael?"

He had texted her around five in the morning, claiming he had found some top-tier goods for her and telling her to come check them out once she woke up. But here she was, and there was absolutely nothing.

She had lent him so many of her men yesterday, only to be left empty-handed.

The subordinate who had been knocked out earlier finally regained his senses. Keeping his head bowed, he mumbled nervously, "Miss... the people we brought in last night are gone. Mr. Langley is gone too."

Gina raised her hand and delivered another vicious slap. "Useless trash!"

She had given them all those men, and they couldn't even keep an eye on a few hostages. They even let someone snatch Kael right out from under them.

Stella made her way to the most famous downtown shopping district in Brolin City.

This street was globally renowned as a diamond hub, drawing tourists from all over the world eager to purchase luxury jewelry.

You could buy high-purity diamonds here at a fraction of the cost.

A diamond ring of the exact same weight and cut that would cost a million back home could easily be bought here for seven hundred thousand.

As for accessories adorned with smaller diamonds—like bracelets, hair clips, and brooches—they were even cheaper. Though they used crushed diamonds, real diamonds were still infinitely better than cheap knock-off rhinestones.

Stella wanted to pick up some souvenirs.

Julius might own diamond mines in South Africa, and the Blackwood Group had its own jewelry brand, but it wasn't the same.

She was at the source. If she didn't buy something to commemorate the trip, it would feel like a wasted journey.
