They spent the rest of the evening mingling and eventually seeing the guests out. Since Sabrina had just been publicly crowned as Jason's new girlfriend, she was roped into saying goodbye to the guests right alongside him.
It wasn't until everyone had finally left and Sabrina was back in her own apartment, fresh out of the shower, that she scrolled through her phone and saw Jason's post.
She called him instantly.
"Jason Blackwood! What the hell is that post supposed to mean?!"
"It means exactly what it looks like. Grandma already announced it to the world, so I just made it official online. Is that a crime?"
The painful image of her belonging to another man was still burning fiercely in his mind.
"Jason, this was not our agreement! You broke the rules!"
"I didn't break anything. Sabrina, we need to talk face-to-face. I'm downstairs outside your building right now."
After Julius and Stella escorted Nadine back to the main estate, Jason had followed them halfway before ripping the steering wheel in the opposite direction and speeding straight to Sabrina's apartment.
He had been sitting in his car for half an hour, waiting for her call.
He knew she would check her phone before bed, see the post, and immediately call to murder him.
But this had to be dealt with. He couldn't hide from it anymore. Even if she screamed at him or beat the hell out of him, he was going to take it.
Which was why he was here.
"Fine. Come up. A2201."
Sabrina hadn't expected him to be waiting right outside. Since when was he this fearless?
Jason got out of his car and rode the elevator up.
As the numbers ticked higher, he ran through a dozen different strategies for surviving her wrath.
He rang the bell. The second the door swung open, a fist flew straight at his face.
Jason caught her hand effortlessly, yanked her forward, and spun her directly into his chest.
