Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 601

Sabrina Sherwood listened to Jason Blackwood's words, staring blankly at him, entirely unsure of how to respond.

Seeing her silence, he nervously grabbed her hand and asked, "Sabrina, what... what are you thinking?"

Despite his usual playboy, laid-back demeanor, he was actually quite innocent and had never been in a serious relationship before.

Now, with Sabrina staying quiet, he was genuinely anxious.

Sabrina pinched his arm and asked, "Does it hurt?"

"Yeah." He had no idea why she pinched him, but he didn't dare pull away.

"So, was everything you just said true?"

He looked at her earnestly. "Every word came straight from the heart. I don't want to just pretend for Grandma anymore.

I want us to be a real couple. It's okay if you don't agree right now, but if you're ever ready to start a new relationship, could I be your first choice?"

He was absolutely certain he didn't want her with any other man; he wanted her for himself.

He also knew she had been betrayed by her ex-boyfriend and her best friend, an ordeal he had actually helped her through.

"Don't you... think I'm too fierce? If we really get together, aren't you afraid I'll beat you up?"

She knew full well he secretly called her a tigress behind her back!

"I'm not afraid. I'd willingly let you hit me for the rest of my life, and I promise I'll never fight back."

His older brother always said that fighting and scolding were just different ways of showing love.

Although Sabrina was fierce with him, she treated him incredibly well. She had never once turned him down whenever he asked for help.

Seeing her zone out again after his confession, he couldn't guess what was going through her mind. But feeling reckless, he leaned in and pressed his lips to hers.
