Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 635

Stella visibly shuddered, brushing the goosebumps off her arms as she shot Rhoda an icy glare.

She scoffed, looking at Bruno. "Bruno, do you want me on my knees massaging your legs?"

Bruno immediately dropped to his knees with a loud thud, completely terrified. "I wouldn't dare! I wouldn't dare! I'll massage your legs! Don't listen to this crazy bitch!"

He gave Stella's legs a quick, symbolic rub before springing up and slapping Rhoda hard across the face. "You lunatic! Keep your crazy mouth shut! Are you trying to get me killed?"

Rhoda might have been good in bed, but compared to Stella—the literal god of misfortune—he'd take his chances.

Rhoda clutched her cheek, forcing out fake tears. "Darling, why are you hitting me? You should be hitting her!"

Bruno slapped her again. "You absolute idiot! If you want to live, shut your damn mouth!"

He didn't even dare breathe wrong around this woman. Where did this stupid girl get the nerve to speak to her like that? Was she trying to drag him down with her?

Taking two brutal slaps in a row, Rhoda finally shut up. She clutched her burning face, glaring at Stella with unbridled hatred.

This woman was a walking curse. She had ruined her life in the capital, and now she was doing it again in Cloudcroft City.

She thought she could finally use Bruno to teach Stella a lesson and destroy her life, but Bruno turned out to be entirely useless. How could a supposed crime boss act so incredibly subservient to this bitch?

It made sense in the capital because Stella had her insanely powerful husband backing her up. But this was Cloudcroft City. No matter how capable Stella was, she shouldn't have been able to touch a local kingpin like Bruno.

What exactly was Bruno so terrified of?

He was utterly humiliating himself.

What a spineless coward!

She had wasted all that time sleeping with him for absolutely nothing!
