Julius caught the backpack and shot a swift kick at Marsh's leg. "Laugh again and you're doing a thousand burpees when we get back."
Marsh immediately stood at attention, his face deadpan. "Yes, Boss. We'll add burpees and tree climbing to the rotation. Real trees. We promise we won't embarrass you in front of Stella again."
He had been trying so hard to keep his head down, but his shoulders had betrayed a slight chuckle. The boss's kick had definitely stung.
The other two quickly looked away, having also quietly snickered, though not as obviously as Marsh.
After handing over her bag, Stella rolled her shoulders, cracked her knuckles, and took a few steps back to build momentum. Then, she bolted forward.
As the four men watched in absolute disbelief, she launched herself at the trunk, her shoes finding impossible grips as she parkoured her way up into the canopy. With a few swift, precise strikes of her hands, the bizarrely shaped branches snapped and tumbled to the ground.
"Whoa!"
"Stella is a badass!"
"Boss, I think your wife might be deadlier than you!"
Basking in their awe, Stella didn't pause. She used a sturdy branch to propel herself through the air, leaping effortlessly to the next tree. With a blur of calculated palm strikes and sharp kicks, she systematically dismantled the disguised array.
"Where on earth did you find her, Boss? She's faster than a monkey."
"I don't bow to anyone, but from today on, I worship Stella."
"Boss, with her fighting skills, do you get beat up at home?"
Julius flicked each of them on the forehead. "What kind of nonsense are you spouting? Have you ever seen a monkey this gorgeous? And my wife would never lay a hand on me. She loves me too much."
He was bursting with pride. His wife was incredible, and his men could only watch in pure envy.
Once all the problematic branches were cleared, Stella dropped from the canopy, landing silently on her feet.
