Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 687

Julius couldn't comfortably let his pregnant wife go back alone and insisted on accompanying her to the Hawthorne house.

Stella refused to let him tag along.

"If you come with me, Frederick will hold back, and he won't show his true colors. Don't worry, dealing with him will be a piece of cake."

Julius compromised, "At least take a bodyguard with you, otherwise I won't have any peace of mind."

Even though he knew his wife was incredibly capable, he couldn't help but worry.

To put his mind at ease, Stella agreed to bring a bodyguard along.

Frederick and Miranda waited at home for over an hour before Stella finally arrived.

Miranda greeted her brightly. "Stella, you're finally back! It's been so long since you visited. We missed you so much."

Frederick chimed in, "Yes, come have some fruit. Miranda specifically bought your favorite seasonal fruits."

The two of them were laying the charm on thick.

Unfortunately for them, Stella completely ignored it. She plopped onto the sofa like she owned the place, crossed her legs, and said, "I don't like any of this fruit. Just give me my mother's ashes."

Frederick swallowed his irritation, sitting down beside her. "There's no rush, Stella. It's been a while since you've been home. As your father, I have a lot I want to catch up on."

"Then speak. I'm listening." She really didn't have anything to say to him.

Trying to force a conversation, Frederick asked, "Stella, is Julius treating you well?"

"Obviously. Would he have dropped millions on a yacht wedding if he wasn't? Get to the point."

Barely a few sentences in, Frederick was already infuriated by Stella's attitude, but for the sake of his ultimate goal, he forced his anger down.
