Stella rolled her eyes at him. "If I'm a kid, you're an old man."
She admitted her face was a bit of a cheat code. She had a youthful, innocent look that made her seem almost underage, but she was fully twenty years old.
Julius chuckled, not bothering to argue. It was an undeniable fact that he was significantly older than her.
"Julius, how did you even learn how to cook?"
"When I was studying abroad, I couldn't stand the local food, so I just looked up recipes online and taught myself. Do it enough times, and you get the hang of it."
...
After hitting a dead end at the Blackwood Manor, Frederick temporarily tabled his scheme, shifting his full attention back to expanding his company.
Miranda and Chloe, however, refused to let it go. Behind Frederick's back, the mother-daughter duo made another trip to the Blackwood Manor, attempting to bribe the staff for Stella's new address.
Naturally, they were aggressively run off the property by security before they even got near the gates.
Leaving the manor, Chloe was in a foul mood.
She used to despise seeing Stella's face, but now she was furious she couldn't track her down.
"Mom, what kind of dark magic is Stella using? She's barely been with the Blackwoods for a month, and that old bat is fiercely protecting her! Mr. Blackwood even bought her a massive villa! All of that was supposed to be mine!"
"Mr. Blackwood was on his deathbed. He miraculously recovered the second Stella married him. That old woman obviously thinks Stella is his lucky charm. Of course she's treating her like royalty."
"Mom, you have to think of something! How am I supposed to get to Mr. Blackwood? If I can just get close to him, I know I can make him fall for me."
Ever since the day she laid eyes on Julius at the Hawthorne house, she had been obsessing over him.
She couldn't get his towering physique, his devastatingly handsome face, or his deep, commanding voice out of her head.
