Chapter 104
Serena’s POV
The nerve of that woman!
Serena was so furious she saw red as she stormed out of the house. The morning grass was cool and wet with dew, dampening the hem of her skirt, but she hardly noticed. She needed to get out.
She needed to think.
Serena had spent so many years planning for her future with Kade. She had worked so hard to ensure he married her and no one else. And she was so close to finally seeing it happen.
But now Elena was here.
Elena, who looked too much like Samantha. Elena, who just happened to share a mate bond with Kade while being his first mate’s perfect lookalike. Elena, who did everything in her power to seduce the man who was supposed to be Serena’s.
And what hurt the most was that it was fucking working.
Kade was taking Elena’s side. Actually taking Elena’s side. Even when Serena tried to frame Elena, he still chose her. He gave her another chance despite finding her in the dirty cellar with his precious daughter.
How long would it take for Elena to run out of chances? How long would it take for Kade to finally see her for what she was-a conniving, scheming fox?
Slowly, as she paced the grounds, an idea began to form in Serena’s mind. Once it crystallized, Serena veered in a different direction and found Nellie out in the garden behind the infirmary, collecting herbs, just as she did every morning.
Nellie did a double take when she saw Serena approaching and stiffened. “Sere- I mean, Luna. To what do I owe the pleasure?”
Serena stopped in front of the Omega and lifted her chin. “Do you know of any herbal concoctions that are known to cause unwanted side effects?”
Nellie furrowed her brow. “What kind of side effects?”
Serena paused, thinking, then said, “Nothing too severe, but enough to be noticeable and fast-acting. Maybe something that causes stomach upset.”
The Omega hesitated, clearly uncertain. But Serena refused to let her go, and finally, Nellie replied, “There is an herbal mixture that can cause diarrhea and vomiting; we use it sometimes in patients who need to expel from their bodies very quickly.” She looked at Serena warily. “You’re not planning on seriously hurting someone, are you?”
“Like I said. Nothing severe.” Serena planted her hands on her hips. “Get me the concoction as soon as possible. Oh, and make sure you craft an antidote, too.”
“An… antidote?”

Serena nodded. “Yes. I need to make sure the illness can be quickly cured.”
Nellie frowned, thinking for a moment, then muttered, “It could be done… Alright. I’ll make the mixtures. But… Please promise you won’t hurt anyone too badly…”
“I said I would use an antidote, wouldn’t I?” Serena barked. “Besides, it’s hardly your place to question me. Do it. Unless you want me to pay your precious mom a visit? She’s taking care of your sick little sister, isn’t she? They’re both so vulnerable right now, it would be a shame if something were to happen to them.”
Nellie’s face drained of color as Serena loomed over her, and she quickly nodded, scurrying away to collect the herbs. Serena’s lips curled into a faint sneer as she watched the Omega go.
Perfect. Once Ivy got sick, Serena would be her savior.
Kade would never choose Elena again.
The following morning, it was prepared. Serena tucked the tiny vials into her sleeves, ensuring no one could see them. She practiced the motions, and once she was ready, she found Elena in the kitchen, preparing Ivy’s milk for the morning.
