Reborn heiress on a scumbag hunt novel Chapter 11

Chapter 11

When the car door opened, a man with long, pale fingers appeared. He was clutching his fists in restraint, with veins bulging beneath the skin.

Measured footsteps moved closer from behind Louisa, but she didn’t notice. All she could think about was how annoying Stanley was.

Gareth Stone followed Jasper out of the car. Right now, he was worried that if Jasper lost control in a fit of rage, he might beat Stanley up to death, right here and now!

Deep down, he silently complained, “You really are too stubborn, Mrs. Hayes.”

He couldn’t see how Stanley was better than Jasper at all, yet Stanley could always get Louisa to be so stubbornly obsessed with him.

Just as Gareth was mentally ranting, he suddenly heard her say, “Too bad I’m not interested in you anymore. My fiancé is the only man I love right now!”

All Louisa wanted was to get rid of Stanley as quickly as possible. Even her tone carried impatience.

“That’s impossible! How could you like him when you obviously know that he’s violent?”

Louisa thought about it, then calmly replied, “Well, he is pretty violent in that sense.

Stanley froze, while Gareth nearly choked. What dangerous words were Louisa saying in broad daylight?

Still, his gaze couldn’t help but drift off to the cold, ascetic Jasper beside him. Deep down, he couldn’t help but wonder if Jasper was no longer a virgin, just as Louisa had claimed.

After Stanley snapped out of his shock, he clenched his fists. He could hardly believe Louisa would say something like that. “Don’t let his looks fool you, Louisa! A man like him will never take you seriously. At best, he’s just playing with you before he dumps you! I’ve seen plenty of jerks like him!”

“So what if he’s just playing around? We’re not in the old, ancient times anymore,” Louisa snapped back.

Stanley was so furious that he nearly spat blood “Since when did you become so shameless, Louisa?”

No sooner had he finished than a wave of icy pressure swept over him. He looked up, only to notice two men who’d been standing there all along.

Dressed in a tailored luxury suit, Jasper had sharp, striking features and a cold expression. His

presence was overwhelming and ruthless, and the look he gave Stanley was one he would give

a dead man.

“M-Mr. Hayes?” Stanley staggered back.

Louisa frowned slightly and turned around. When she saw Jasper behind her, she nearly

collapsed on the spot.

Thankfully, his strong hands locked around her waist and pulled her firmly into his arms. Leaning against his chest, all she could hear was her heart pounding in her ears. She forced herself to calm down and awkwardly raised her hand. “Hi!”

When she saw Jasper move to raise his hand, Louisa instinctively thought she’d suffer a beating and shut her eyes. To her surprise, a warm touch came into contact with her palm. His long fingers slipped between hers and interlaced tightly.

When he spoke, his voice was as cold as ever. “I’m here to pick you up.’

Louisa had no idea how much he’d heard or if he was mad, but staying anywhere near Stanley

was a terrible idea.

She stepped back, steadied herself, and looked up at him with a bright smile. “Let’s go home, then. I’m starving!”

Jasper gave Stanley one last glance before turning around and leading Louisa toward the car, still clasping her hand in his.

Stanley stood rooted to the spot, shaking. He only exhaled after the car disappeared from his sight. The look in Jasper’s eyes had been so terrifying, as if he would’ve killed Stanley right on the spot.

In the car, the air was unnervingly quiet.

Louisa turned to look at Jasper, who was cold and expressionless as always, but there was something about him that felt different to her.

“Um… Did you hear what I said earlier?”

Jasper gave a soft hum and looked up slightly at her.

Louisa relaxed, relieved that he hadn’t heard anything, only to hear him continue in a rich, mellow voice, “Are you talking about the part where you said you just wanted to play with me?

She flushed all the way to the tips of her ears. Jasper was definitely doing it on purpose.

“That’s not what I meant,” she quickly said and looked at him with genuine seriousness. “I

was just trying to piss Stanley off. Surely, you can understand, can’t you?”

“So, how do you feel about me?” he asked, fixing his dark gaze on her. His beautiful eyes seemed to hold an entire galaxy as they locked on her with deep intensity.

She instinctively looked away and mumbled, almost too quietly to hear, “O-Of course, my feelings for you are serious.”

The corner of his lips lifted slightly. As if moonlight had spilled into his eyes, the depth in them softened into warmth and gentleness.

For a split second, Louisa felt her breath hitch. So, this was what people meant by a smile that could light up the room…

Outside the window, the night was at its darkest with stars shimmering so brightly that they looked like the galaxy cascading across the sky.

Following the line of his jaw, she caught sight of the stars beyond the glass. A sudden poetic impulse took over, and she blurted out, “It’s the perfect night, with just the moon…”

She blinked at him, half-expecting him to respond with something like, “The breeze and us.”

Instead, he took a serious look at the night sky and said, “But I only like the luminous stars.’

Luminous stars for Louisa?

Heat rushed to her cheeks before she replied with forced composure, “I think the stars are

beautiful too.”

“And very well-behaved,” he added.

“How so?”

“Because a luminous star sleeps with me every night.”

Her face burned even hotter. Why did it feel like he was speaking in double meanings again?

As Louisa sensed that she was losing her grip on her composure, she quickly pulled out her notebook and changed the subject. “I need to work on my homework.”

“And when will the luminous star sleep with me he asked, his warm breath brushing her ear. He was clearly refusing to let her go.

With grave seriousness, she replied, “Luminous stars are meant to be looked at, not taken advantage of.”

Her ears, however, betrayed her by turning bright red.

The next second, he lightly caught her earlobe between his lips and murmured in a wicked and faintly aggrieved tone, “In that case, I don’t like stars anymore.”
