Reborn heiress on a scumbag hunt novel Chapter 12

Chapter 12

Hannah Smith was being cornered against the wall by a group of thugs, trembling as she clutched her bag to her chest.

When she spotted Louisa, her eyes lit up. She urgently cried out, “Louisa, help me!”

The corners of Louisa’s lips curled into a slight smile. It’d been such a long time since she’d seen Hannah.

In her past life, she had considered Hannah her closest friend. The latter came from a poor family, so Louisa constantly bought her necessities and even paid for her tuition. She’d given Hannah everything she could.

Who would have thought Hannah would eventually team up with Estelle to frame her?

She even remembered how Hannah had once strutted up to her in high heels and flung money

in her face to mock her.

A sharp, arrogant female voice snapped Louisa back to the present. “Hey, you’re her friend, aren’t you? Pay up for her because she stepped on my shoes.”

“Money? I’ve got some,” Louisa calmly replied.

Hannah’s eyes immediately lit up, and she quickly added, “She’s from the Lowe family, so she’s really rich.”

With that single sentence, she completely exposed Louisa’s background.

Louisa responded with a faint smile. She knew what Hannah was thinking without even having to guess. Anyone would know who to ask for money if they had to choose between a poor student and a wealthy heiress.

The thugs immediately turned to Louisa, their gazes sweeping over her clothes.

The red-haired leader, Sienna Ginger, strode up to her. She was brimming with arrogance, with her hands planted on her hips. “Since that’s the case, pay for your friend. We’re not asking for much either, just 1,000 dollars!”

Louisa glanced down at the pair of ordinary canvas shoes that had been stepped on just once. “I’m sorry, but I’m not close to her,” Louisa said before turning around and walking toward the college.

Hannah panicked and quickly shouted after her, Louisa! Louisa!”

Seeing Louisa leave, Sienna spun around and furiously slapped Hannah across the face. “Shut up! How dare you lie to us, you brat! I knew a wealthy heiress like her couldn’t possibly be

friends with you!”

Hannah’s face swelled, and blood trickled from her nose. Though she looked utterly miserable, she insisted, “I’m telling the truth! She is my friend, so go ask her for money!”

“She didn’t even give you a second look! What kind of fantasy world are you living in?” another thug barked before kicking her to the ground.

As fists and kicks rained on Hannah, all she could think about was how resolutely Louisa had left. Hatred surged in her chest.

None of this would have happened if Louisa had just been willing to pay the 1,000 dollars, but she hadn’t even cared. Had she conveniently forgotten who had stayed by her side and hung out with her when no one else would?

Hannah’s hatred deepened. Deep down, she felt more certain than ever that Louisa was nothing but an ingrate. It was no surprise that everyone hated her!

Louisa arrived at Class Charlie. The door was slightly ajar, so she spotted the bucket balanced above it with just one glance.

Her lips twitched from helplessness. It was such a cheap trick that she didn’t know whether to laugh or call it childish.

Looking up, she spotted Raven Ironwood, notoriously known among the students as Iron Lady. She was marching over in a whirlwind of energy.

Louisa lowered her head and offered a cautious greeting, “Good morning, Ms. Ironwood.”

“Class has started. Why are you still standing here? Get inside,” Raven barked, casting her a cold glance.

“I can’t open the door,” Louisa replied softly.

Raven checked and noticed that the door was clearly ajar, so how could Louisa possibly not open the door?

“Nonsense. It looks open to me,” Raven snapped, clearly not believing her words. She strode over to open the door herself.

The classroom had been noisy. When the door swung open, every head turned in the direction with excitement flickering in their eyes. That was especially the case for Suzy and Lydia, whose gazes gleamed with malice and scheming anticipation.

But when they caught a better look at the person who had stepped inside, everyone fell dead

silent.

Who… was that?

Raven wiped the dirty water from her face as her fierce gaze swept over the room.

When the students saw her face, their expressions changed at once.

Raven was infamous for her explosive temper and formidable background. No one had ever dared mess with her.

“Who did it!” Her lion-like roar made everyone in the room shiver.

One by one, the students lowered their heads and pretended to read.

“Why is no one talking now?” Raven strode up to the class president, Craig Jenkins, and locked her sharp eyes on him. “You tell me, Craig”

Craig had no choice but to stand up while the entire class remained silent.

“What’s wrong? If you can’t even manage your class, are you even fit to be the class president? ” she barked.

Craig shuddered hard and glanced sideways before blurting out, “I-It was Bernard’s idea!”

It sure was Bernard Hurst’s idea, but he wasn’t the only one involved. He immediately tried to argue, but Raven couldn’t care less and dragged him out of class.

After Bernard left, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Louisa leisurely strolled in from the back door, set down her bag, and took out her textbook. Sensing everyone’s eyes on her, she looked up and swept them with a cold glance. “Well, if you go looking for trouble, don’t be surprised when it finds you.”

Suzy could feel that those words were aimed at her and clenched her fingers tightly in anger.
