Reborn heiress on a scumbag hunt novel Chapter 17

Chapter 17

How did Jasper manage to make Louisa’s blood boil so early in the morning?

However, Louisa hadn’t seen how Jasper’s expression had grown solemn the moment he left their bedroom. He walked out of the villa and to his car, where his driver respectfully opened

the car door for him.

Jasper got in and said coldly, “Go to the hospital. We’ll be paying Stanley Hall a visit.”

“Mr. Hayes, I just got word that nothing’s wrong with Stanley Hall. He only went to the hospital to keep one of his family members company after they got into a car accident.”

Nothing was wrong with Stanley?

Jasper’s eyes narrowed slightly. The tip of his shoe suddenly bumped into something. He Looked down and saw that it was a sachet of herbs. He picked it up and read the manual written

on the packaging. As a chronic insomniac, he naturally understood that these herbs were meant to help treat insomnia.

“Did you buy this?” Jasper asked his driver even as another possibility arose in his mind.

The driver shook his head. “No, sir. If you weren’t the one who bought this, then it must be Mrs. Hayes who did. She was the only other person who was in this car yesterday.”

Louisa?

Jasper suddenly recalled how bright and excited Louisa had been when she happily skipped over to him, as if there was something she wanted to show him. His fingers instantly tightened around the herbs.

Could Louisa have gone to buy this sachet for him yesterday instead of seeing Stanley?

Complex emotions immediately filled Jasper’s handsome eyes.

Louisa lay on the bed for some time. When she was no longer able to sleep, she got out of bed.

For a man who had abstained for over 20 years, Jasper sure was virile in bed!

Louisa pretty much limped her way over to the computer. After typing on the keyboard and finishing some things, she spotted a game that had been installed. Her heart stirred, and she swiftly launched the game.

As Louisa immersed herself in the game, she didn’t notice her phone ringing nonstop beside

her.

Jasper reclined in his chair at the head of the table in the modern-looking conference room over at Emperos Group. He was almost completely shrouded in darkness, yet he emanated a powerful but silent air that made his presence impossible to ignore. His arms were crossed over his chest, and his eyes were lowered as if he were deep in thought.

Edgar Prue, the general manager of Emperos Group, sped up his presentation.

Jasper’s cold voice suddenly cut in, “How did you arrive at the 10% figure, hm?”

Edgar was taken aback for a moment. He quickly repeated himself, only to realize he’d miscalculated the numbers. Cold sweat instantly broke out on his forehead.

Jasper was downright superhuman-he’d calculated the results accurately even though he had only heard the presentation once!

Swiftly, Edgar apologized for his mistake, but the atmosphere in the conference room grew gloomier than before.

Jasper didn’t seem to be in a good mood today. His eyes were constantly lowered as they fixated on his phone.

A notification suddenly appeared on his phone, and Jasper immediately grabbed the device. Yet, the caller ID spelled someone else’s name instead of Louisa’s. He declined the call without

hesitation.

“This meeting is over. Email me any remaining unpresented information.” Jasper rose to his feet and shoved his chair aside before marching out of the conference room.

The remaining employees in the room were left to sit in the gloom on their own.

“Is Mr. Hayes in a bad mood today?”
