Chapter 9

In Cameron’s office, Lydia’s mom, Edna Conway, burst through the door in a fury. When she saw Lydia with disheveled hair and messy clothes, she shrieked and rushed over in distress. ” Lydia! Who did this? Who dared to hit my precious daughter?”
“It was her!” Lydia pointed straight at Louisa, whose cold gaze swept over her. The icy darkness in her eyes made Lydia flinch so hard that she withdrew her hand.
That was when she remembered that Edna was here, so what did she have to fear? She immediately started sobbing, adding fuel to the fire. “She beat me up, Mom! She grabbed my hair and slapped me!”
“I don’t even bear to lay a finger on Lydia, yet you had the guts to slap her!” Edna glared viciously at Louisa before raising her hand and swinging it hard.
When Louisa suddenly stepped back, Edna lost her balance and pitched forward, landing flat on her face. Even her skirt flipped up, exposing her innerwear.
“Mom!” Lydia shrieked.
Cameron couldn’t bear to look and quickly helped Edna up. It seemed the rumors were true, that they were pure nouveau riches.
“There are more details to this incident, Mrs. Jones. Let’s wait until Suzy’s and Louisa’s guardians arrive before discussing it further.”
Just then, Suzy’s dad, Donald Clarkson, walked in
Suzy immediately ran over. “Dad!”
Cameron greeted him too.
“Can’t you just expel whoever hit my daughter?” Donald’s sharp gaze swept over to Cameron, who was sweating hard.
The latter stole a look at Louisa and replied, “The student’s guardian hasn’t arrived yet.”
“Who is this?” Donald asked. He was mildly surprised when he saw Louisa. He was quite amazed by her looks.
“She’s the one who slapped me, Dad!” Suzy said oudly and shot Louisa a smug, contemptuous look. “You must stand up for me!”
Donald glanced coldly at Cameron. “Mr. Lindth, since when does your college enroll riff-raffs off the street?”
“Looks like your company won’t be around much longer, Mr. Clarkson,” Louisa suddenly

“Nonsense! My dad’s the CEO of Clarkson Group and controls half of the city’s hotel industry!
Suzy smugly replied, while Donald looked equally proud and dismissive. He clearly looked down on everyone present.
“So, do you usually make decisions without bothering to understand what actually happened?
11 Louisa mocked.
Slightly embarrassed, Donald turned back to Cameron, who cleared his throat and explained, ” Suzy and Lydia mocked Louisa and pushed over her desk.”
Donald’s expression relaxed slightly before hardening again. “I thought it was something serious, but all the girls did was push a desk. Someone this petty and unforgiving will only cause more trouble if she stays, so I demand that Louisa be expelled. Otherwise, I’ll withdraw my investments!”
Edna echoed, “That’s right! Not only should she be expelled, but she must also pay Lydia’s medical bills and apologize!”
Suzy smirked and smugly lifted her chin. “Louisa, if you want to stay, I might let you off on one condition-you and your family have to kneel and beg me.
How could a filthy slut like Louisa dare to lay hands on her! Deep down, Suzy swore that she’d make Louisa pay a hundredfold.
“Such arrogance from someone so young.”
A stern male voice came from the door before Timothy walked in with a cold expression. Rosie followed closely behind him.
Seeing Timothy, Donald paled. “What brings you here, Mr. Lowe?”
“Oh, so it’s you, Mr. Clarkson.” Timothy cast him a cold look.
Suzy seemed confused by Timothy’s appearance. She recognized him as one of Donald’s business clients, but what was he doing here?
The answer came in the next second when Timothy replied in a cold voice, “I’m here to find out what grave mistake my daughter committed that requires her to kneel to resolve it.”
The words struck like thunder.
Donald stared at Louisa in disbelief, then immediately lowered his head. “This is all just a misunderstanding, Mr. Lowe! Suzy, hurry up and apologize to Mr. Lowe!”
“I’m not apologizing!” Suzy snapped and gritted her teeth. Her face had contorted, making her look ugly.

No sooner had the words left her mouth than Donald firmly forced her head down and said, This is all my fault for failing to teach my daughter proper manners, Mr. Lowe. Please don’t take it to heart. I’ll make sure she’s properly disciplined when we get home.”
Though Edna didn’t understand business politics, she could tell that Timothy was no ordinary man. Still, that didn’t give Louisa the right to pick on Lydia.
“You must be Louisa’s guardian, right? Look at what your daughter did to mine! I don’t even bear to hurt her myself!” she said sharply, pushing Lydia forward.
Timothy glanced at Lydia’s injuries. His expression darkened as he turned to Louisa. “What happened?”
Rosie raised her voice in alarm. “Good heavens! She’s hurt so badly! You must’ve beaten her up viciously, Louisa!”
Then, she turned apologetically to Lydia. “I’m so sorry, child. This is all my daughter’s fault, and I’ll apologize on her behalf.”
With that, Rosie had effectively confirmed Louisa’s crimes.
Louisa’s clear, amused voice suddenly rang out “Rosie, you didn’t even ask what happened before deciding the blame’s on me. You’re quite prophetic, aren’t you?”
Rosie looked slightly embarrassed, but she softened her tone with a gentle reproach. “No matter what they did, you shouldn’t have hit them.”
