Chapter 100 The birthday party
Amelia Johnson had already expected that Sabrina would make a fuss if she showed up
without wearing that old dress. She bit her lip lightly, her clear eyes suddenly turning misty as
she said, “Sabrina, I really was planning to wear the dress you gave me, but when I tried it on, I realized I’d put on some weight. It just didn’t fit anymore.”
“Thank goodness Second Young Master Damien delivered another one just in time.
Otherwise, I would’ve been stuck.”
Hearing this, the crowd started to sympathize with Amelia.
But Chloe Hughes clearly wasn’t buying it. She’d be damned if she believed Amelia’s excuse.
To her, Amelia simply wanted to wear that fancy limited–edition gown and didn’t care about
something Sabrina picked out.
With a scoff, Chloe chimed in, “Since it was a gift from Sabrina, even if it didn’t fit, you could
still show it to us.”
She was so sure Amelia wouldn’t dare bring it out and embarrass herself. But to her shock,
Amelia just lifted her hand, and someone immediately handed her a gift box.
Amelia flashed her a smile–polite on the surface but full of meaning underneath.
That smile should’ve been bright and sweet, but it made Chloe’s scalp prickle for no reason.
Then, Amelia pulled out the dress and held it up for everyone to see.
Everyone was stunned.
“This doesn’t look new at all!”
“The seams are coming undone here, and what is that–red wine stains?”
Sabrina was totally dumbfounded. When she gave that dress to Amelia, it didn’t look nearly
this trashed. How did one day do such damage? It was like it aged a hundred years overnight.
Emily Carter quipped sarcastically, “Wow, you said you spent a whole month picking this
online? Looks more like you dug around in a dumpster for a year and hit the jackpot. This
isn’t a gift–it’s revenge.”
“And you call that sisterly love? More like sisterly sabotage, huh?”

Gate Day The enthoun Jity
Sabrina went beet red and lunged for the dress, frantically searching for signs that Amelia
had faked the whole thing–but nothing. Not a single clue.
What the hell was going on?
Grace Williams, worried for her daughter, rushed to explain, “No, you’ve all misunderstood. Something unfortunate happened today. But since it’s Amelia’s birthday, I didn’t want to bring
it up…”
She braced herself and made up a story about a suspicious housekeeper sneaking into
Amelia’s room and swapping out the dress. Though she conveniently had no idea who was
behind it, claiming the party crowd had too many suspects.
Amelia sneered inwardly. Wow, the older generation really knows how to spin a story. She
tossed the blame so smoothly it was almost impressive.
The guests, riled up by Grace’s version, all assumed someone was stirring up drama to pit
the sisters against each other.
Thanks to Grace’s well–timed save, public opinion was turning fast. So Amelia naturally
played along, putting on her sincere face.
“Ever since I came home, Sabrina has treated me really well. I just don’t believe she’d send
me something like that.”
“But whoever’s behind this… they’ve really crossed the line. Sabrina, I’m so sorry you’re
caught up in this.”
She took Sabrina’s hand and subtly turned her gaze toward Chloe Hughes, who stood off to
the side, arms crossed and a smirk on her lips.
Instantly, Sabrina’s expression changed. That’s right–Chloe was the one who pushed to see
the dress in the first place.
That backstabbing witch actually had the nerve to drag me down with her?
Sabrina had always used Chloe as her pawn, but now she realized she almost got burned by
her own weapon. Her rage threatened to bubble over. At this point, Chloe Hughes still had no
clue that her bestie, Sabrina Johnson, was already holding a grudge against her. She was still
busy scheming how to mess with Amelia Johnson.
