Chapter 103 Wasn’t that basically destroying Sabrina?-1
Meanwhile on the other side.
With those troublemakers gone, the vibe finally chilled out again. Everyone started talking
about how perfect Amelia Johnson and Damien Taylor looked together–it was all
compliments. Someone even asked Richard Johnson when he’d be drinking at their wedding,
which had him grinning from ear to ear like he’d just won the lottery.
“Man, what a rollercoaster tonight’s been. I need a Coke to calm my nerves,” Emily Carter
said, patting her chest dramatically. “But hey, I stuck around for the grand finale! Worth it!”
Amelia gave a soft chuckle and glanced at the time. The party was finally winding down.
“All I want now is a good night’s sleep. I’m absolutely drained.”
Hearing that, Damien who was just about to say something, had to swallow his words. He
cleared his throat and said, “Let’s head upstairs. Forget everything else.”
Emily chimed in too, nodding. “Listen to Mr. Taylor here–go upstairs, draw a bath, and crash.
You’ve earned it.”
Just picturing a warm soak in the tub made Amelia’s eyes light up. She nodded quickly.
“Alright then, see you tomorrow.”
Although she said those last three words generally, her gaze landed right on Damien as she
spoke. And just when Damien was about to respond, bursts of laughter and whispers
suddenly erupted all around them. The commotion from earlier had returned, but this time it
was even louder!
“What’s going on now?” Emily turned around, and when she saw it, her jaw nearly dropped.
She immediately reached out to tap Amelia–only to find she was too late.
Damien had already pulled Amelia into his arms.
Catching Damien’s warning glare, Emily awkwardly retracted her hand and quickly pointed up
front instead. “Uh, look over there. This is bad.”
Amelia had already spotted the big screen by then. Her face was calm, but her eyes were
cold. Someone had just thrown up an old photo of her–taken at that humiliating birthday
party years ago.
