Chapter 112 Dream

Amelia Johnson had already seen this coming, but she still pretended to seek Grace
Williams‘ help. “Auntie, you’re close with those ladies, right? Especially the mayor’s wife. If
you talk to her, I bet she’d be willing to help me out, right?”
Grace forced a laugh. All that bragging she did before was just to save face–truth is, the
mayor’s wife probably didn’t even know who she was.
“Mm–hmm, sure, I’ll give it a shot.”
Amelia beamed. “Thank you so much, Auntie!”
“It’s nothing. Anyway, you go now. I have something to talk about with Sabrina.” Grace waved Amelia off, then immediately started plotting with her daughter on how to humiliate her.
Mother and daughter were full of dirty tricks–half an hour and they already had their plan
locked down.
“Achoo!” Amelia sneezed, quickly tucked herself under the blanket, and logged into her game,
planning to play a bit before bed.
Just then, a friend request popped up–from Ethan Collins. Amelia frowned, regretting ever
adding him as a friend.
She hit ignore.
But Ethan was relentless, spamming invites. While Amelia was clicking to invite Damien Taylor, her finger must have slipped, and she accidentally accepted Ethan’s request too.
Boom–now the three of them were in a team.
Damien: Who’s this?
Ethan: Summer, who’s the other guy?
Next second, Amelia kicked Ethan out and rushed to explain to Damien.
Amelia: I meant to only invite you. Seriously, I clicked too fast and accidentally tapped Ethan.
You get that, right?
Damien didn’t reply, making her panic. She fired off more messages.
Amelia: I swear it was an accident!
Chapter 112 Dream
Amelia: And come on, play with Ethan? He’s terrible at games!
No matter what she sent, Damien stayed quiet.
Did she just make him mad?

Amelia could cry. She stared at her right hand-“Why? Why are you like this? Aren’t you
supposed to listen to me?!”
Eventually, phone in hand, she waited for Damien’s reply and fell asleep like that. Ethan kept
sending party invites long into the night before finally giving up.
Even in her sleep, Amelia was grumbling, “Damien… you jerk… not even one reply… ugh…”
Outside, a shadow appeared by her window.
The window creaked open, Damien carefully climbed in, shut it behind him, and drew the
curtains. Then he quietly walked toward the bed.
He saw her phone still logged into the game, their chat on–screen.
He picked it up, immediately deleted Ethan from her friend list, then closed the game.
“Damien…”
Just as he put the phone down, he heard Amelia say his name. He froze, thinking she’d
woken up, only to realize it was just sleep talk.
“She’s too adorable,” Damien murmured, then gently pulled the blanket higher up on her.
Staring at her peaceful, sleepy face, he couldn’t help it–he lay down beside her.
Almost like a reflex, Amelia snuggled into him the moment he lay down.
“Mmm… Damien…”
That soft little voice, so cute it practically begged to be spoiled, made Damien’s throat
tighten. He instinctively tightened his arms around her.
Barely holding back.
She really was a little troublemaker.
Just like that, tangled up together, they slept through the night. Damien Taylor couldn’t around. He placed something on the table, kissed his sleeping beauty on the forehead
quietly slipped out the window.
