Just then, Mrs. Campbell approached Amelia Johnson with a friendly smile. After a bit of

chatting, she finally learned that Amelia came from the Johnson family. “The Johnsons, huh?

I haven’t heard much about them, but with a daughter like you, they must be seriously

cultured.”

Amelia gave a soft smile. “You flatter me, Mrs. Campbell.”

If Richard Johnson had heard this, he would’ve probably grinned all night without sleep.

Sabrina Johnson was about to make her move to get some attention, but Lily Carter beat her

to it with a mocking quip, “Summer, this is your sister? You two look nothing alike.”

Sabrina’s smile froze as she shot pleading glances at Amelia, silently begging for backup.

But Amelia pretended not to notice. She continued chatting happily with Mrs. Campbell,

eventually walking off toward the VIP area, where only special guests were allowed. This left

Sabrina fuming, standing there clenching her teeth.

“Summer.” Lily gathered her courage and spoke up.

Amelia looked back with a warm smile. “What’s up?”

They hadn’t known each other long, but Lily had already started calling her by her nickname.

She was pretty straightforward and simple–minded, just carried herself like a spoiled rich girl.

Amelia didn’t mind being friends with someone like that–at least it wouldn’t be emotionally

exhausting.

Lily blushed for some reason. Getting a closer look at Amelia, she couldn’t help but envy how

flawless her skin looked. “Your skin is amazing! What skincare brand do you use?”

Mrs. Campbell quickly pulled Lily aside, bringing the conversation back on track. “Miss

Johnson, where did you learn to play the guitar?”

Amelia hadn’t expected that question but replied honestly, “I taught myself. Just someth

do for fun.”

Mrs. Campbell’s eyes lit up. “That’s incredible. I have a bit of a request–would you be willi

to teach Lily? You can name your price.”

Amelia was caught off guard, unsure whether to agree or turn it down. Lily grabbed her hand and pouted playfully, “Please, Summer? Please teach me?”

Unable to resist Lily when she acted all sweet like that, Amelia gave in.

“Yay! Summer, you’re the best teacher ever! I’ll practice super hard!”

Not far off, Sabrina and her friends threw dagger–like glares at Amelia, as if wishing they could bore a hole through that cheerful little face of hers.

Then, out of nowhere, over a dozen men in black suits stormed into the banquet hall. The

sudden commotion startled the entire room. What the heck was going on?

Even in the VIP lounge, Amelia noticed the scene–but she kept her smile like nothing

happened.

“Lily, you two stay here with Miss Johnson. I’ll go check what’s going on,” Mrs. Campbell said urgently as she stood up. As the host tonight, she couldn’t let this slide–it was a total slap in

the face!

The head of the bodyguards barked a command, and his team fanned out to search everyone

who seemed suspicious.

Didn’t matter the age or gender–everyone got checked.

When they got to Sabrina and the others, Sabrina gathered her nerve and asked what was

happening.

One of the men in suits shot her a chilly glance. “Quit asking. Not your business.”

“If you’re looking for someone shady, check Amelia Johnson! She was acting weird–just came from the back stairwell!” Chloe Hughes suddenly said, eager to point fingers. “I mean, why was she back there if she’s just a guest?”

The lead guard picked up on that and ordered his men to search Amelia.

Seeing them heading her way, Amelia mentally prepared for the worst–but outwardly, she
