Sabrina couldn’t even look at Ethan anymore. Out of nowhere, she just broke down crying. “Ethan, how could you say that about me? I was really scared for sis back there! I thought if I said something scary to that guy, maybe he would let her go.”

Ethan didn’t want to waste another second arguing with them. He just turned around and got into the ambulance. He tried to comfort Amelia, but she had wrapped herself tightly in the blanket and stayed curled up, not saying a word.

A nurse gestured toward him, signaling him to stay quiet and give her some space. “It’s better to let her family or boyfriend be here.”

“I’m her boyfriend,” Ethan said straightforwardly, then immediately called Richard Johnson and Grace Williams to inform them.
