Chapter 160 Goodnight, hubby

In the end, Amelia Johnson ambushed Emily Carter on his way back from the bathroom and
gave him a proper beating–all because of that cringey message he sent. Only then did she
let it slide.
“Ughhh, Amelia! How could you hit me!” Emily whined like he’d just been wronged for life.
“Hmph! Dare to send that kind of disgusting message–who else am I supposed to hit if not you?” Amelia waved her fist in mock warning. If Damien saw the message later, would he
believe her it was from Emily?
Emily looked pitiful. “How is it disgusting? Totally normal, okay? Don’t tell me you and Damien text each other like robots–‘Hello, have you eaten?‘ ‘Hi, are you off work now?‘ ‘Excuse me, may I help you?‘ Are you his girlfriend or customer service?”
Amelia couldn’t help but snort with laughter. She nudged him lightly with her foot. “You
good?”
“Hehe, I knew my Amelia wouldn’t actually go all out on me.” Emily scrambled up from the floor and headed toward his room. “Oh right–almost forgot. I’m not coming back tonight.”
Leaning by the doorframe, Amelia teased, “Oooh, look who’s all grown up now–staying out
overnight!”
“As if! I learned from you!” he yelled, slamming the door shut.
“Then at least tell me where you’re going, okay? What if something happens and no one knows where to find you!” Amelia called out.
“I’m going to see Isla.”
Just then, the phone started ringing inside his room, and Amelia didn’t keep pushing. By the time she stepped out again, all she heard was the sound of a car engine downstairs.
That’s when it hit her–tonight, it’d just be her and Damien in the house.
Hmm… but really, it’s not like they haven’t shared a bed before. Damien’s never tried anything,
right?
She let out a breath, feeling relieved… but there was this weird little twinge of disappointment

in her chest.
At exactly 9 p.m., Damien walked into Villa No. 16.

As soon as Amelia heard the door, she dove into bed and pretended to be asleep. Footsteps
slowly approached, and her heart started racing like crazy.
“Amelia, sleeping already?” Damien’s voice was low, tentative, like he didn’t want to wake her.
No response.
He chuckled quietly, pulled the blanket up for her, and headed to the shower.
When he came back, he crawled into bed and instinctively pulled her into his arms. Breathing in her soft scent, he couldn’t help but kiss her lips–and his hand started to wander a bit.
“Mm!”
A small sound escaped Amelia before she could stop herself.
She forced herself to keep up the act, but her body was kind of giving her away.
What was up with Damien tonight? Everything about him felt bolder than usual. Did he drink
or something?
But… there was no smell of alcohol on him.
Damien quietly laughed, brushing kisses along her skin, his hands not exactly behaving either. Finally, Amelia couldn’t take it anymore and opened her eyes with a flustered gasp.
“You–you-”
“Little sleepyhead’s awake, huh?” Damien whispered, kissing her again.
Amelia stared at him, stunned.
“If you keep looking at me like that, I really might lose control.”
She felt like her brain had short–circuited.
Damien gently pinched her cheek and said softly, “Sleep now.”
“What about you?” she blurted out without thinking.“It’s okay, just give it a moment.” Damien leaned his forehead against hers, eyes closing softly as he pulled her in, hugging her like he
never wanted to let go.
Amelia blinked, confused–wasn’t that only making things worse?

Out of nowhere, a line popped into her mind: if a guy can hold back his desire and respect
your wishes, he’s probably the one.
She chuckled without realizing it.
“What’s so funny?” Damien murmured, his breath brushing against her cheek.
“You’re really something else,” she said sincerely.
