Chapter 175 Nightmare–1
Amelia Johnson barely got a wink of sleep the whole night. The sky was still dim when she
drove her black Feather straight to the Taylor’s place.
Brandon Taylor happened to be up early too and was genuinely surprised to see Amelia with
huge dark circles under her eyes. He hurriedly wheeled closer. “Summer, did you not sleep at
all last night?”
“Brandon, I’ve got something really important to tell you.”
Last night, she dug around Damien’s assistant Jack and uncovered something fishy–like a
sudden lump sum of unexplained cash hitting Jack’s account.
It wasn’t concrete proof or anything, but Amelia wasn’t about to let a potential threat near
Damien. She came to see if Brandon knew what Damien was actually doing overseas.
After listening to her, Brandon’s face darkened instantly.
He thought for a moment, then told Amelia to get some rest. “Let me handle this. You don’t
need to worry so much.”
“But how did you even find out about that money Jack got?” he asked.
Amelia froze for a second; she’d been so freaked out about Damien that she’d completely
forgotten to cover her tracks. Laughing awkwardly, she said, “Honestly, it’s kind of a weird
story. I called Damien yesterday, and Jack picked up and introduced himself as his assistant.
I asked him to save my number. Later he randomly texted me an account number and asked
me to wire fifty million into it–then deleted the message right after. That’s when I started
getting suspicious.”
Brandon gave a small nod. “Got it. Now go get some sleep. Damien’s gonna be fine.”
Glad she’d managed to explain herself without raising alarm, Amelia let out a sigh of relief
and headed upstairs. The moment her head hit the pillow, she was out.
Damien had just left a kind family behind and was continuing south–the one place he could
really call his turf. If he could make it there, he’d be safe.

But there was a big problem.

He needed a map. And more importantly, he had to know where the street cameras were so
he could avoid them and slip out of the northern zone undetected.
Problem was, all he had was an outdated phone, basically a hand–me–down from the guy
who had helped him.
“Over here! He must’ve gone this way!”
A sharp shout rang out. Damien instantly melted into the shadows, holding his breath.
Maybe those guys didn’t think he’d dare move around out in the open, so they walked right
