Chapter 179 She’s my girlfriend
At the Johnsons‘.
Grace Williams was chatting with Sabrina Johnson about that piano competition, both
clearly sensing Amelia had been keeping a lot from them.

Sabrina frowned. “Mom, didn’t she grow up in the countryside? How could she even know
how to play like that?”
Grace paused, thinking it over, then made up her mind to send someone to dig into Amelia’s
past in that remote town she grew up in.
Not long after, Amelia came home.
Sabrina exchanged looks with Grace. Putting on a cheery smile, she quickly stepped forward.
“Sis, where have you been these days? You haven’t been home at all. Mom and Dad have
been worried sick.”
Amelia smiled faintly. “Alright, I get it. I’ll explain everything to Dad.”
But Sabrina tagged along as Amelia went upstairs. “Sis, can I ask you something?”
Amelia nodded easily. “Sure, what’s up?”
“It’s not that big a deal, really. I was just wondering where you learned to play piano like that?
You’re amazing–it’s actually kind of intimidating,” Sabrina said.
So, that’s what she wanted.
Amelia calmly told them how she taught herself piano under tough conditions in the
countryside.
“I never really had access to a piano, so it’s not something I would bring up all the time. That
day, I had no choice but to reveal it. I mean, those online trolls go nuts with their insults.
Imagine if I’d said something beforehand and messed up–I’d have been dragged through the
mud nonstop. You get that feeling, right?”
Sabrina had nearly had a mental breakdown due to online hate before–she knew exactly how
brutal it could be.
But the more she listened, the more it felt like Amelia was throwing shade at her on purpose.

“Well, I’m tired. Let’s talk later.” Amelia finished and walked into her room, shutting the door
with a loud bang.
The gust from the door hit Sabrina straight in the face. She clenched her teeth in frustration.
She didn’t buy Amelia’s explanation one bit. No matter how hard you try, there’s no way you get that good unless you’re a flat–out genius.
And let’s be honest–Amelia didn’t exactly scream “genius” to her.
She had to be hiding something!
Sabrina stomped downstairs, totally pissed. Grace immediately came over. “So? Did she say anything?”
Sabrina had a face like thunder. “Tch. Wouldn’t tell me a damn thing.”
Grace’s face darkened. “That little brat’s lived off us all these years, and now she’s keeping
secrets? Unbelievable.”
“Well, with Damien Taylor backing her up, no wonder she’s acting all high and mighty,” Sabrina
muttered resentfully. If only she had ties to the Taylors, she’d totally rule Heliovard too.
Grace’s eyes narrowed. “Then we can’t just let her keep riding this wave.”
They quickly came up with a plan. When Richard Johnson got home, Grace pulled him into the study.
“Dear, I was playing cards with some ladies yesterday, and guess what? I heard the Zion
Group’s looking for solid partners. I think we’re a perfect match.”
Richard frowned; of course he’d heard about that. But he also knew this Mr. Zion was a tough nut to c***k–if it were that easy, he would’ve approached him ages ago.
“I also heard,” Grace said slowly, watching his face, “that Mr. Zion’s still single. What do you
think about introducing Amelia to him?”
“No way,” Richard said instantly, his tone firm.
Grace flinched. “Honey, don’t get upset–just hear me out.”
So she started breaking down the whole Amelia–and–Damien situation to him.
“If Damien Taylor really cared about Amelia, he would’ve made it official by now. But he
