Richard Johnson nodded. “Yeah, that Damien Taylor.”
“You mean that Damien Taylor?” Grace Williams looked stunned.

“Exactly. So if he ever comes over, watch what you say and try not to talk too much,” Richard reminded
her.
Grace was clearly a little miffed. “How come someone like Damien Taylor, a big shot, is suddenly coming to our place?”
Richard glanced at Amelia Johnson. “He’s a friend of Amelia’s. She invited him over.”
“Babe, Damien danced the first song with her, then offered to take her home out of politeness. That guy’s all class; there’s no way he’s actually looking to be pals with someone like Amelia.” Grace’s tone dripped with sarcasm – she couldn’t believe someone like Damien would bother with a country girl.
“You just don’t get it,” Richard said firmly. He knew men well enough. A guy won’t go out of his way unless there’s at least a little interest. If he didn’t like her, he would’ve simply called a car for her, right?
Damien Taylor wasn’t someone you could just run into on the street. Having him around was a rare chance, and Richard didn’t plan to waste it.
Grace pursed her lips and stayed quiet, though she was clearly boiling inside. “That bumpkin just lucked out. Damien probably doesn’t even remember her name.”
“Dad, what was that you said about him being top-tier or whatever? I’ve never heard of that,” Amelia asked, feigning confusion.
Richard looked at her seriously. “Just remember this – Damien’s a big deal. Try to stay in touch, and get him to come by more often.”
Amelia blinked, her eyes wide. “We just met. It would be kinda weird to suddenly invite him over a lot.”
“You barely have any friends anyway. You finally found someone, so you should spend more time with him, “Richard insisted.
“He seems super busy, though,” Amelia replied while sneering inside. Richard was laying it on thick, like he actually cared about her social life.
Richard frowned. “Even though he’s busy, he still took time to bring you home. That says a lot. Don’t let him
down.”
